Such a pleasure to hear Chanler’s story. I’m a Sierra Echo customer and hope to get it in the next month or so. I share much of the same interest and perspective of the new pathways that EV is creating. Thanks for the podcast!

An electric nostalgic Corvette is an oxy moron! Like Government Intelligence I like all of Kindig’s work! They are all very talented people! EV’s suck tho!

I wouldn't have done that to a 1st generation Corvette. I don't like EV's anyway. I'd rather do that to a golf cart, and make it faster. I live in a small town where people can drive golf carts and side by sides in town as long as they display the farmer's triangle and pay the wheel tax.

Driver assist is in the way. It's like having a backseat driver that has the power to steer the wheel while you're driving. Hell no!!

This is a very good and mature way to look at it, I’m generally pretty stubbornly against any electric vehicles and I want the combustion engine to prevail. I believe we can use the motors and tech we already have with other fuels that have the same or better potential energy than gas/diesel and that this EV craze will eventually fade away but deep inside I also know that Evs do have their place. This guy is a real car enthusiast. Respect.

I would never convert any classic VW to a EV. It already has a simple, effective, cheap and reliable engine. Not for me. I like my carbon footprint just the way it is already

why would you do that to a classic?
@maxwellduncan6150 Жыл бұрын
I believe it may be one of a modified replica that Kindig cast: limited number of Carbon Fibre bodies.
@mikesmith5683 Жыл бұрын
It's not a classic. It's Dave's carbon fiber body Vette.
@mitchellschwartz2148 Жыл бұрын
1. The 1953 Vette could not fit an adult taller than 5' 8". 2. The body is a kit, not anything original. As is the remainder of the build. 3. Restomods are becoming super popular. The best of both Worlds. 4. These are selling to wealthy clientele. 5. Dave K is one of the very best in the business.

He BUILDS those cars from the frame up. He's not destroying any classic cars, so he can do whatever he likes. Take off, hoser.
@mr.intensity268511 ай бұрын
@@maxwellduncan6150OK, but if I'm paying for the carbon fiber replica and especially Dave Kindig's time, then I still want it powered by a modern ICE.

man i can not echo your comments on keeping the back woods clean I live in the pacific northwest and we have a big problem with back country runners leaving trash , parts of their vehicle and going off the trails and ripping stuff up they will even tear down gates which pisses off the lumber companies and makes it harder to go back country.

You guys can take your hyper craft now and shove them You will be poisoning the Earth 100 times more than I gasoline car and if you don't think So do the proper investigating. There's no recyclement for these batteries so where are they going to go? It's going to be like radioactive waste. Where does it go into the water table wake up?

Congratulations Dave and crew, hopefully you'll have an episode about this build with specs. I visited last September and met you, I have the Red Mache and was talking about how battery range dropped, it just needed an internal driving computer reset, back to over 300 miles range. Thank you for being available when we tour your shop, hope things continue to go well for you and your family/crew. Genuinely a nice bunch of people.
