Maybe check Kuwaresma(Entity) 2019. The Healing caters more to the Filipino audience since it's a movie about a community/family falling apart, which makes it more like a melodramatic movie with some horror rather than a true horror movie.

That gas truck scene was actually inspired by real life accident in Thailand so it kinda makes sense why the director decided to put it there. But it happened at the countryside and so long ago,even some Thais might never ever have heard of that accident.

the plot definitely has potential. the color shift was interesting too, which i only noticed after a second watch years later. i agree, plot build up was longer than expected but then again it's a movie with several A-list Filipino stars so everybody has to have the limelight.
