True Cajun True pioneer... The reason Erin succeeded is mainly due to his drive... There are plenty of Cajuns that didn't do well... alcoholics drug addicts ... you name it there's a Cajun out there that fits the bill... Ervin made it because he knew he had no choice. Hard work drive and desire to do his best... he never gave in or up. I to grew up in Cajun country, my family goes back 300 years there. There used to many Ervins... Ervins men and women just like him.. managed to build much of Cajun country.

Hey, ain't that the therapist ("Dr. Nick") that was murdered by that black kid a few months back? Apparently he was having a gay affair with this young black man and then the kid murdered him and put him in the trunk and tossed his body into a ditch.

I am 42 years old and a former student of Holy Rosary Catholic School, and what a school it is. It is thanks to people like Sister Claire Rodrigue (RIP), Ms. Mae Rose Chiasson and Dr. Roland Thomassie that contributed to the wonderful memories I hold dear from my time there. I even hold memories of people like Ms. Juliett Daviet who was retired and filled in when needed. People such as her all contributed to those wonderful memories. All of these individuals were probably some of the strictest teachers that Holy Rosary has ever had, but they were strict because they CARED, and it is that care that saves so many and helps us to become the best we can possibly be.

I wish they would've moved quicker to get the crew members strait to the hospital. It's awful. There may have been more survivors had that been the case.

My Dad was born 27 September, 1927 in Grande Prairie, LA. One month later, he was reared at the present day corner of LA 29 & Interstate 49. @ 2 miles West of that intersection was the the Big Ridge locally known as Grand Coteou, and not just Grand Coteau, LA because the Ridge parallels the western side of the Atchafalaya Basin! and runs North to Illinois and East to Kentucky!

Mr. Erv was an incredible man and a pleasure to know. He was smart, kind and generous. He was always willing to help with whatever you needed. I had not seen him in a while and was sad to hear that one of the last true cajuns had gone to his reward. We could all learn something about life & success from Mr. Erv. May he rest in the well deserved peace in heaven.

A very interesting thing: @ 19:00, the responder says that he came back to the crash site a few times, brought two beers, drank one and left one for Ronnie. I watched a video where a guy was metal detecting, and found an unopened beer can, and thought it must have come from the plane. Interesting.

You identify as Cajun? Your last name Meyers is found among two family lines in south Louisiana, one is German and the other is Dutch.
