Oh my gosh Gina. That little Halloween field guide is the cutest! I love the way your mind takes snippets of things and can see something else. The way you put things together is amazing. The backgrounds, the characters, the houses, the story. You are just amazing.

Always love your process videos! I love that I feel like I’ve witnessed your transition in your journal spreads. 😊 I do a daily creative journal that I do on a very regular basis. It’s very literal and documents the comings and goings of my days. I enjoy it! And that’s primarily what I do on KZbin But every once in a while I feel the need to get messy and break out my art journal…in all its mess and mystery! Ive only been brave enough to show a couple of those process videos on Yt as it tends to be a very personal process. I find that it fills a different “itch” in me than anything else I do. Oh I’m also a card maker. That’s my “clean” craft. lol I have to do it in a completely different workspace 🤣 Love watching you work and create whatever you make! Thanks so much!

I’m so happy you left in your ‘mistakes’ and then showed us what you did in the process of bringing that feeling you desired back to the page. I enjoy seeing the mindset of everyone’s thought processes and to me, this is the good stuff. You have a truly unique and lovely style! Hi Gina! You're so right about the change from pictures to emotions. Thanks for this really great explanation and beautiful spread. It takes MY mind one step further. My mom recently passed from dementia and if she had been journaling in her earlier years with Emotion, I would have taken GrEaT pleasure in going thru a journal of hers and read back to her any written emotion/ memory of hers To Her for each spread, while showing her the images she created in hopes it jogs back the memories. I may need to do something like this In Hopes that someone could jog my memory with it some day. Actually....in hopes that it will be a Never Be Needed Memory Journal. Hope that makes sense❤

This makes perfect sense and I have similar thoughts...but hope I never need it. I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. That must have been very hard for you to witness. I’m working in a journal from this past summer I do a hodgepodge journaling style it’s part fauxbonchi part junk journal and glue book rolled into One book, I was in alot of pain during the summer so I didn’t do my art just wrote what happened so I’m catching up with my art, and watching your videos helps me bring out my creativity, you help me so much, not to be scared or ashamed of my art thank you ❤

I think we all have that "need to match" bug! Try to think of your creating practice as just that PRACTICE. And, it is supposed to be for mistakes. Also, create something on a piece of paper then cut it up into small pieces. Glue those pieces, randomly into a journal or skechtbook. You will still get the 'sameness' but it will not be as matchy matchy. Watch for a video about this, soon!

After looking at my own work, I realized I have my favorite/preferred colors and my favorite/preferred mediums and even my favorite/preferred style. Thank you for reminding me that branching out and playing can encourage creativity and prevent getting stuck in a rut.
