Since I was teenager ( 1968 ) I allways listen his music . He was my pope ! I saw him in concert in France when he was 70 years old with Buddy Whittington great guitarist too .

I remember like 5 years ago i was on a pretty good acid trip and i couldn't stop listening/watching this performance. The whole time i thought he was wearing sweat pants and i thought it was badass to be just that laid back singing and playing some great blues 😂

Yes, oh yes. I caught these two greats and more in their big blues review at Jazz Alley in Seattle years ago. Sat right next to Pinetop to watch his hands. A great American. RIP Pinetop Perkins.

I watch pinetop in clubs with this lineup. His piano up front driving the bus. To hell with the set list. Pinetop played what he wanted. It was up to the band to keep up.

Jeez people, this is part of a whole show, not just one song. It's Paul's band, he called the shots, and he paced the show so that every song didn't follow the same formula. In this particular song he chose to feature the guitar. If we'd have been lucky enough to be there, I'm sure we would have heard lots of Butterfield's harp playing.
