Kibler and Olivia are BS. Kibler's official response just proves what we all already knew, he doesn’t actually care about the Magic community, just his wallet. He left MTG years ago for Hearthstone, and when Hearthstone wasn’t profitable for him anymore, he conveniently came back to MTG through Commander... Not out of love for the game, but because that’s where the money is. And this Magic 30th promo proves it he took the paycheck without a second thought, fully knowing how much of a blatant cash grab it was. His defense? "It’s just a collector’s product, if you don’t like it, don’t buy it." That’s the same corporate nonsense WotC keeps pushing. The problem isn’t just the product itself it’s what it represents: Wizards prioritizing rich collectors over the actual player base. And Kibler is fine with that because it lines his pockets. He says he’s still critical of WotC when it "matters," but when they waved money in his face, he suddenly had no issue promoting a $1000 product filled with fake dual lands. That’s not integrity, that’s betrayal.

-5: draw 2 is really good. Don't forget that Aetherspark gets loyalty counters whenever equipped creature deals damage, not just damage to players. So if you equip it without using the +1 (there are lot's of cards for it some even in standard) then you can draw 2 the turn this comes down AND it protects itself from dmg since it can't be attacked while it's equipped. This can easily be a draw 2 every turn in the correct deck which is pretty wild for a 4 mana card. The +10 mana doesn't seem all that good in standard. There aren't really pay off cards that need a huge amount of mana. If we get another Emrakul or something like Torment of Hailfire, then it would get interesting. In bigger formats +10 mana can be game ending but I wonder if it's worth it. There are easier ways to cheat out big spells.

The Oathbreaker format is essentially dead. I have a couple groups, but can't find any stores playing it. I've heard theres a way to play on magic online through custom games but that won't help you find a game I don't think. The format is so much fun, its a real shame it didn't catch on :(

This feels unsurprisingly focused on the casual power level. In competitive gameplay, I use Vivien, Monsters' Advocate + Benefactor's Draught for my deck. I've also seen Samut, Tyrant Smasher + Glimpse of Nature used. Combo elves is really about two things: giving your elves haste and card advantage/draw. That being said Tovar seems like a great competitive elf Oathbreaker. Thanks for the videos as always!

If someone sits across from me with this as their oathbreaker I would claim they are crazy and then proceed to play it out. @CubemasterXD the front side is just green, but the back side is black green which makes the whole cards color identity black green. In cases like this, there is a small circle next to the word planeswalker that's black and green. It's definitely not an obvious thing, so good question!

shit i have to play mtg from 2005 fairly i revist mtg during times to see cards and stuff i brought this guy for collection but i was planning to make a deck for him at first and the only mechanism i found that i could play exiled cards was rebound so thanks for introducing me to another mechanic i don't plan to make a deck as i no longer have a group to play mtg like when i was a teenager like most of those in my group now are married with kids and stopped playing mtg. One question can i ask how the plainswalkers spells need to work? i cannot understand those numbers there are in the card at the right of the spells what they are and how they work? Are they need mana to work?
@Camp_MTGАй бұрын
Sure! You cast the spell for the cost in the top right like all cards. When it comes into play it gets 'loyalty counters' equal to the number on the bottom right. Then once on each of your turns you can activate one of the 3 plus or minus abilites by adding or removing loyalty counters. You can't do the -6 right away because you need 6 loyalty counters to activate it. You would need to +1 this planeswalker for 2 turns before having the required 6 to activate the -6 on his next turn. This particular planeswalker also has a static ability (the text above the activated abilities) that is always active, kind of like an enchantment. Also if you don't know, your oppoents can chose to attack your planeswalkers instead of you in combat. Hope that helps!

@Camp_MTGАй бұрын
No, you never get a 1/1 at any point. The game counts him as a creature in other zones, which allows you to search for him in your library with cards that say like 'search your library for a creature and put it into your hand', or 'return target creature from your graveyard from play. Weird stuff like that.
