I found a bottle in Hokkaido recently that is 10 years, pure malt (not blended..?) Koshi-no Shinobu. Note the 'Koshi-no' part. Is it the same as the 10 years Shinobu that doesn't say 'Koshi-no' on the label? What's the difference?

Brave move, I would never by expensive consumables from Ebay. Risk of buying fakes is huge especially for wine and whisky.

Nice review. love Talisker and been meaning to try the 57 north for a while. AFAIK it has been discontinued, but I was able find a bottle in a local shop with a 100 euro price tag... you reckon it's worth the price? cheers.

I thought you said Mutt Lang. I’m thinking, I thought Mutt was quite a bit older than this. I agree with you 100%. A good to great Single Malt Scotch has to be enjoyed in the proper glass. I have a small collection to use when I enjoy a taste from my three favourite bottles.

Wow, this is fantastic. We are doing a similar thing, but we are from Austria 🇦🇹. Americans are going to be confused… Even more though we are speaking German. Anywho, I love your version, we’ve been to a bunch of those distilleries ourselves and it is very cool to see someone taking a completely different approach. Love it. You have a subscriber from Austria now.

Hello, what is the difference between this one and the other 23 year old one? The bottle seems fancier but the price is about twice as high for the other one (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWGnmpyYh5yFeJY)

I currently have 4 boxes. Two bottles from #4000's Bottle #7887 and one bottle #11000' I believe they made 40,000 bottles in 2007. There was a re-release in 2009 and I think one more in 2013. (Not sure how many bottles in 2009 or 2013). Bottles in the US (legitimate places) are around $1900-3000. Plan on opening bottle #11000's soon, but recently I have been adding to the collection. Good video, appreciate the insight.

Great review and thanks for sharing your experience at Glenglassaugh. I recently had a taste of a single cask 9 year aged in a wine cask (not Sauternes) and it drank like a 15 to 20 year whisky. It’s Raspberry jam and enough spice to really get the palate juices going. It was almost £100 but recently went on offer for £75 so I bought a bottle. Rachel Barrie done good although Billy Walker might have had more say on this one?

Your videos are an excellent source of info. Most likely heading to this Distillery myself in a couple months and this helped me narrow down my options for the Spey region. The family casks are a great option. Any bottles exclusive to the distillery you can’t buy elsewhere? I assume there’s a few family casks on offer. Would you say this is one of the picks to visit in that region? I’ve only a day to drive down from Elgin en route to Edinburgh and just trying to narrow down the seemingly endless options. GF is high on my list being one of the few family run operations still going strong. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

Going in a couple months. Tbh a short sharp tour without the usual tedious questions doesn’t sound so bad with my tight Skye itinerary. Thanks for the review! Shame on the Distillery exclusive bottle not being a little more impressive but I’ve never had a Talisker I didn’t love

Great film. I’ve been lucky enough to visit Glenglassaugh a couple of times and on each occasion hand filled a bottle in the visitor centre. My question is about their core range: the maturing stock of whisky distilled after 2008 should surely allow for an age-stated core release. Do they plan to replace the three NAS expressions anytime soon?
@TheWhiskyDiaries Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure to be honest. They did say they had some releases this year but didn’t go into further details of what was planned.
