I’m gonna be honest, I feel like the creator took a look at Dark Souls, saw some crazy dragon design, and just slapped it onto Lily White and Lily Black because they didn’t know a better pick. Actually, their attacks aren’t too different to Seregios, a wyvern from Monster Hunter who can also shoot scales much like they can. I wonder if that was the inspiration…?

3:13 Man that's disheartening, especially since I'm a Sakuya Enjoyer. While i have enjoyed the series, i always felt Sakuya was done quite dirty. I still was holding out hope she'd return with what orin was doing. I suppose the odds arent zero given the response.

man, V sanae its just soooooooo op, seems like not even V marisa wants to mess with her (she sayss somenthing like her ability its as scary ats always at the end of meilling route) and that comes what its probably the 3rd strongest variant also, little theory, notice how has it been twice the times that V marisa gives someone one choice or another? i think thats how she stole abilitys ,when they make that choice, she can copy or steal her abilitys

while this is kind of an old video by now, it might be useful to pass on a few observations seeing as there aren't many english reuploads of this series i would love to have the time to carefully look over and correct all of the inaccurate translations (such as 8:31 which i'm pretty sure says "やはぁ, フランより弱いなぁ" (you're even weaker than flan) rather than "now you've done it"), but that's not the world we live in unfortunately so, instead, i'd like to give a few meta notes about variant marisa that i noticed in this episode in particular. first and foremost, as anyone who's read the manga "medaka box" can probably notice, variant marisa is heavily inspired by the character kumagawa from the same manga. but it goes even deeper than just the poses which are direct references to specific manga panels (such as 7:08 and 7:41) or the fact she uses screws at one point. namely, the ability she explains at 7:41 is spelled 大現実付き (oo-genjitsu-tsuki - "great reality attachment" where "attachment" is a verbal noun) but has furigana that indicates it's pronounced "all reality". this is a direct inversion of the ability of kumagawa from medaka box which is spelled 大嘘憑き (oo-uso-tsuki - roughly "great lie possession" but there's multiple layers of complex wordplay to it so a true translation is difficult) with the well-known pronunciation "all fiction". the effects are also opposites, kumagawa is able to "deny the existence of any phenomenon", variant marisa can "make any phenomenon impossible to deny". a second, minor thing related to pronunciation is that at 7:14 when she's about to stop time, she uses an ability with the kanji for "world" but with furigana that reads "super marisa world", which is the name of a popular fangame. there's one other aspect about her i find neat. namely, she has the tendency to break the fourth wall (in cirno's route too she calls one of the fairies an "original character whose name isn't worth learning" or something) and in this video she does so by calling meiling a "stage 3 boss" (another mistranslation in the video, she's "being interrupted by a stage 3 boss" not "being interrupted for the third time", also "wearing a swimsuit and dancing in front of the gate" is probably another reference - to what, i'm not sure, maybe those popular touhou electric wind instrument videos?) and intentionally pronouncing her name incorrectly a few times (which is kind of a meme among japanese touhou fans) but at the end of the fight she actually does switch to using meiling's real name, which might indicate her praise is sincere, and is a surprising character moment that i liked. i hope anyone coming across this comment who likes this series but didn't know all of this up until now can also appreciate these subtleties thank you for reading

I ain't an expert at all but it's nice to see someone was able to catch a lot of references about v!marisa (the stage 3 boss TL part was confusing when I initially translated it, since at that point v!marisa had been interrupted by Flandre and then the grotesque fairies)

@@simonsoffman8255 That will only make it worst. An angry Sonic is an absolutely beast. Obviously he would have his sad moment, but then hell would manifest. He's durable enough to resist an surprise attack if any variant tries to take advantage of his small moment of weakness, plus the fact he's fast enough to get outside time. He could react or simply tank the attack. Sonic obliterates. Add Chaos Emeralds and it is way more unfair.

So Hecatia could destroy the variants huh? I guess she’s fears by the entire lunar capital for a reason. I wonder if that means there’s a canon reason why she doesn’t interfere. I can think of a few reasons of course considering Hecatia probably couldn’t care less considering the type of god she is.

Hecatia being confirmed to be overwhelmingly stronger either means there’s no V!Heca or the variant is massively weaker like how V!Yuuka was.

I have a theory that the stronger the Touhou character, the weaker their variant will be in comparison. That's why the variant fairies like Daiyousei are so much stronger than their regular versions, but V!Yuuka was weaker than hers.
