Great job on this- I have most of the set already, but you uncovered about 5 new ones that were not represented well to me in other videos. Here's what you got right- elements of a useful swatching production- Showing the product wet and dry, illustrating the working properties of the paint, marking the the swatches, zoomed both tight and also wide video shots, and best of all- smart!-💯showing the entire dried range of the paint set together at the end to get an overall sense of the aesthetic and consistency of the brand.

Where do you get your empty watercolor pans? They seem a bit slimmer than some of the generics around. Like less square ish. Making it easier to fit 13 pans even in the middle.
@TheGlitterCrayon2 ай бұрын
@@thesunseekeer I just used random pans I gathered from Amazon. I'm not even sure is they are all the same brand, but I know they are just generic half pans :). I definitely get what you are talking about though! Some half pans have a bit of a thicker wall to them! The center row of this particular palette is an actual row instead of just an empty space between two rows. So it is technically made to fit 36 half pans.
@thesunseekeer2 ай бұрын
@TheGlitterCrayon ah ok. I'll keep looking around. I didn't even notice the third row. That makes sense as to why they fit so neatly. Thank you

I’m intrigued with this exercise! Just wondering what type of paper/sketchbook you are using for this? The colours look so vibrant. So, I see that you’re using the same 15 colours to mix your main colour with. The results are beautiful with all the exercises. Is there a reason you selected these particular mixing colours?
@TheGlitterCrayon4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for watching! This is a Stilman & Birn Alpha series sketchbook (which isn't really meant for watercolor, but I chose it anyway because of the amount of sheets and I like how colors look swatches on it). This series is me documenting / making a sort of archive of the colors and shades of paint I have across different brands. As for the color mixing, I pick out 15 (sometimes more, sometimes less) from my main palette that I think could show a bit of the mixing potential of the color(s). When it is more than one color for color mixing, I use the same colors to mix for each for consistency in comparison. Everything is just for reference, like a color catalog 😊
