How come some competitors have to share a table and others don’t. How come some of those sharing a table take more than half the space? I would love it if the sponsor found a bigger venue with more space for competitors and spectators. Consistent and better lighting for the competitors would be great as well.

The top 24 (I think) got their own tables and the rest had to share.

For those looking for Karen, she is in a pink shirt at table 70 i think. The camera never gets close to her until After she finishes at 1:02:24. She was focused on so much last year, this year we've only seen her a few seconds,if at all. I think because Ravensburger is sponsoring her, they weren't allowing her to be filmed so we have no choice but wait until her videos months from now. Just my thoughts

I like watching puzzle competitions but I am not sure if it is an Olympic sport (don’t shoot me), it’s just such a slippery slope to then include chess or other board games and esports. I think it’s ok to keep it separate.
@danieltopia5 сағат бұрын
Yeah, I agree. I think that speed puzzling takes enough skill and practice that it's a mind sport. There's debate on if mind sports like chess are considered sports or if there need to be a physical component for something to be a sport. Regardless though, I feel like the Olympics is for physical sports. The Olympics have recognized chess and bridge officially as mind sports, but that they're not suitable for the mainstage Olympic games, so the Olympic bid doesn't seem likely to work.
@marylincherie180647 минут бұрын
there is a physical component within speed puzzling. your fingers need to move quite fast to put in a piece every 3 seconds for 26 minutes.

does anyone know anything about why Puzzle Factory, Jigwas Jedi (both group C), Puzzled in Spain, Hakuna Matata (group A) and Cubuzzle did not qualify while being faster than others in their group sometimes even faster than others from the same country
@andreaelliott728Сағат бұрын
I think there’s something in the rules about every country having someone in the finals for fairness, so sometimes it doesn’t matter what your time is. I could be wrong, but I think Karen Puzzles explained it on her channel.
@marylincherie180655 минут бұрын
@@andreaelliott728 no, it's not the country rule. Teams from Germany didn't qualify but slower teams from the US and Germany did.

Y'all realize that if you win your olympic bid, all this wholesomeness and inclusivity for this competiion will go away?
@marylincherie180651 минут бұрын
sadly true. Also the teams could no longer have members from different countries. I'm thinking of Bobsleigh for comparison which has also teams of 2 and 4 people.

Loved the competition! I have to say, though, that the prizes for the 4th and 5th place teams are so much better than what the 3rd place team gets, which is so unfair -- I'd much rather have a valuable 9000- or 5000-piece Ravensburger puzzle than the 60 euro quarter share of the 250 euro 3rd place teams cash prize. It seems very unequal for that 3rd place team!

Since many players face the challenge of playing in multiple categories and some of them even gets top places in all of them, I have a suggestion for next year: have a general placement prize. Suggestion: The top 100 players of each category gets 100-1 points. Individual: First place gets 100 points Second place gets 99 points ... 100th place gets 1 point. For couples, First place gets 100 points Second place gets 98 points ... 50th place gets 2 points For teams First place gets 100 points Second place gets 96 points ... 25th place gets 4 points Maximum points one player can have is 300. This way, players that didnt have a high individual placement, but consistently good results can also be acclaimed.
@LdyVder4 сағат бұрын
Now about no, that's now how this should work. Do the puzzle(s) fast is how you win and win prizes. The top puzzlers know they'll have a few long days. They prepare for it. Can we please stop with the participation trophy nonsense.
