Nice pieces! How do you find the sizing on the Sebastiane skirt? Is it generous? Could you please measure the waist of the skirt? That would be really helpful! Many thanks!

Hi, I found it's quite true to size. My natural waist is about 28" (29" after a full meal 😂) I went with size small, it fits just right (slightly on the tight side, but still comfortable) The flat measurement of the waist is about 13.5" (for size S). Hope these info helps🥰

Love this! I actually added a few items in the most recent archives and then after asking myself similar questions I removed ALL the items from my cart! A good question I ask myself is: "would I have wanted to buy this if it were full price?". If yes, then I'll buy, if no, then why would I buy it on sale...?

The Sézane archives is such a temptation 🫣like you, I have also been swayed by the price without really taking into consideration the fabric, how it fits into my existing wardrobe and the fit. Luckily I have been able to sell these items on second hand platforms and recoup some money. This year I had a plan regarding what to purchase. I bought a two t-shirts in green and fuchsia, a belt and a pouch. Even though I had access 15 minutes earlier than the start time (sometimes this happens), many bags and shoes were already sold out. Perhaps a good thing in retrospect 😅

It's smart to have a plan before the archives🥰 I finally made up my mind to sell some items which have been in my wardrobe without being touched for years, they deserve more love 😂

Although I love their style, I don't have any Sezane clothing. But, I think your points are really great questions to ask before making any clothing purchase to avoid mistakes! One question I ask myself: Is the garment so expensive that I will want to cry if I ruin it with a stain or if I accidentally tear it? If it is that precious I should probably not buy it to avoid the stress. It might just sit in my closet.
@funnce
@funnce 14 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your question 🥰 It's so easy to get stained or teared when with a toddler. I agree if the fabric is too delicate or the item is too pricey to me, it really takes away the joy of styling.

Hi, your natural waist is 28 inches. But you chose size 80. Even the lowest hole can only give you 75cm, which is about 29.5 inches. How can it fit you when you wear high waist jeans?
@funnce
@funnce 18 күн бұрын
That’s a good question💡I measured my natural waist directly on skin. When wearing pants, I think the thickness of pants, or if top is tucked in, the thickness of the top, or even the thickness of the belt would contribute to the waist size. I shot this video In cold weather, was using the second lowest belt hole with highwaist pants. In warm weather, if wearing highwaist shorts, I’m using the lowest hole😊 Hope this answers your question. I also questioned this when editing this video. Thank you for pointing it out😊

Fold the bottom of your lace shirt under and pin the back of it with a brooch. Or use a very slender belt or tie at the waist to give it a tiered effect.

Not true at all that the half tuck is "silly". The slight V created by the little tuck in front is very figure flattering. Time to throw out all those old-fashioned "rules!"

I feel you! I'm 5'3", but with not very defined shoulders, so the oversized items on me are sometimes without shapes too. Yes, vest or waistcoat are under my radar this summer. They are easy to wear (but I prefer washable version) and gives an instantly chic vibe 😊

I am petite, have big belly and hips , i am not confident to tuck in shirts or tshirts. How can I style better?
@funnce
@funnce 22 күн бұрын
Hi, I would try tops with an slightly cropped A-line shape (gradually wider at the waistline), tops with front buttons so you may leave the bottom buttons open to create an upside down 'V', to help define the waistline, or tops with short front panel and longer back panel to have a raised waistline and some design. A-line mini dress is what I would try as well, I would pair it with boots (sometimes A-line dress on me has a night gown vibe, but boots help define the style)

These suggestions are all very helpful. As a petite 74 year old with a large bust, waist definition is important for me. However, the tummy and increased waist size I have accrued over the decades make me feel self conscious about high lighting my waist. Vests, more fitted shirts in a fabric with some heft (mid weight linen) hemmed at high hip and over sized shirts with the top and bottom buttons undone are my favorites. You are so trim that it’s hard to envision anything not looking good on you as long as the scale is right. Great video!

Thank you for your sharing! When I was learning how to make garments, I found the industry was designing clothes all based on one body shape, a mannequin with unrealistic body measurements. I have quite flat bust and a wide waist, not scaled according to those size chart (it's tricky to pick a size for me, could be too loose at bust and tight at waist 😂)...but it's definitely not our fault. At the same time I'm glad to see more brands start to include models of different body shapes to encourage diversity 😊

I grew up when tucking in a shirt was in style. Never liked it then, and don't like the half tuck now! All your suggestions are so good. The trick to these looks is getting shorter length tops and tees to wear with bottoms. I just finally found some shorter tops and it makes a difference. You have excellent presentation skills, and I just subbed❤.

Hello, I enjoyed your video and the good ideas. I agree that the last lace top seems hard to style. I sometimes shorten a top like that a little bit. I am also going to take in the sides a little on a couple of tops that seem too full on me. Perhaps one of these adjustments would make it a little easier to style that beautiful lace top. Thank you!

Your last lace Sezane piece can be half tucked, just the front and leave the back hanging out. Also, if you wanted to style it with a body hugging slip skirt, you can use a belt to make look like its tucked which is how I would style it. But yes I agree, for a petite that length is not ideal for us and I would definitely reconsider keeping that item in my closet.

Hi, I just received the same Paula babies two time like yours. I’m debating sending them back because the seem a little wide on the strap section. I thought maybe someone had returned them. But I noticed it seems the same as yours. I wonder if we just have narrower feet. Is the black pair more fitted
@funnce
@funnce 26 күн бұрын
Hi, I kept the black/ecru version. It gets softer after multiple wear. My feet are skinny for your reference. It is not a snug fit on me, it’s a little roomy on my feet, especially the double strap part, but it’s still easy to walk for my case. The fit among different colors seems similar, just the leather is a little different.
