I don't! The mind of steel doesn't exist. We are humans, not robots. It's important to give yourself rest and permission to be human and take time off if you need to recover from negative events and trauma.

I was directed to this podcast from the FREE JOB HUNTING WEBINAR. As someone with ADHD, loads of this rang so true. I was diagnosed later in life and I could not understand why I was getting overwhelmed with the simplest of tasks but thrived with highly complex problems. This episode was very helpful.

Will it show people if u follow them?
@renatabernarde
@renatabernarde 5 ай бұрын
Good question. If you follow a LinkedIn Blue Badge Top Voice, it will show that you follow them at the very bottom of your profile. But if the person is not a top voice it will not show on your profile that you follow them. The person you are following will know that you are following them in their "manage my network" section of their settings.

Except that RDJ still HAD his reputation as a great actor when he was going through those issues. By contrast, I used to make a LOT more money than I now do arranging and managing a 3D print farm for a major oil company before getting laid off, filling the gap with substitute teaching, and changing oil for the last 3 years. If I went back to that oil company trying to get that job back, one I was great at, by the way, I wouldn't even be allowed in the building. Why? nobody gives a Daffy Duck Quack who I am, was, or could be in that oil company or in the 3D printing space. Sure, RDJ is inspiring. Have you heard him give commencement speeches? But, even when he was in rehab, he was RDfrigginJ. Give me an example of someone who graduated college, never got a job in their field, worked every carp-paying job they could to pay bills until they were 50, still making barely above minimum wage, and then finds success. That would be an inspiring story.

Excellent ! Could you suggest some ways to impress the higher ups at workplace which can instantly boost our chances of promotion despite of financial situation of company i mean what are traits of highly paid employees in any field of work.. is it unique skills, adaptability, creativity or some other factors.. Does any good books on this topic talks about it in details..
@renatabernarde
@renatabernarde 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. There is no magic that can work instantaneously. Nor a specific skill that can get you promoted. It's all about being a consistent good employee over time and building your reputation equity for a long and successful career, bit by bit. Classic books to help better understand how to operate successfully in the corporate world have been written by Peter Drucker, Clayton M. Christensen, Michael Porter and many others you can find doing a good google search.

So awesome to have Mike on.. but wow what is up with the audio?? He’s got a lisp and different voice?? Weird edit 😄
@renatabernarde
@renatabernarde 7 ай бұрын
Yes, Paul. Mike's internet connection was poor, and his mic was low-quality, which is a real shame. The lisp you mentioned is most likely from the mic - we have had that same problem before with a previous guest using a similar mic - Donna Burr. Still, her episode is one of the most downloadable we have! We tried to save the audio and video so listeners could learn from his experience. But in the future, we have decided to be stricter with guests and ensure our audio is always the best possible quality. It's a challenge for us, as all of our episodes are recorded remotely, so we send detailed instructions to our guests, but we need more control over their side of tech. Having said that, I think this interview is excellent, and our audience is very forgiving because they are looking for jobs, and if they can learn something important from our guests, it's worth a listen.
@PaulDeuchar
@PaulDeuchar 7 ай бұрын
Out of curiosity what platform / tool did you use to record? Ive seen this before on another podcast, not Mike or UseVerb. Don’t believe its connection or mike.. it’s a processing filter. Great pod!
@renatabernarde
@renatabernarde 7 ай бұрын
@@PaulDeuchar, we record on StreamYard and edit on Descript. If you click on other interviews, you can see their quality. If you check other guest episodes, you will notice that, although there is a bit of variation, working with high-quality podcast mics and high-speed internet usually does the trick. Still, our downloads are pretty consistent because the guests are in high demand for our audience, and they understand that podcasting can, at times, be low-fi. Having said that, we have made a decision to require a screenshot of the internet speed test and the mic brand and model for all future guests.

Renata i have heard that Co-workers are not your friends so how to build relationships at work to succeed faster than normal as it is said that network is networth ? Could you explain what one should be doing strategically in order to increase value & influence without being trapped in taking unwise steps or staying around losers.. People or experts on this issue have different and contradicting view points some say coworkers are not your friends, some say they can be friends..its confusing so last stop is i believe in your opinion about complex subjects...

An added issue is AI and getting visibility to the right fit. There are tools candidates are using to send out mass applications without lifting a finger which is bombarding Talent Aquistions in some cases with thousands of applications. They are not going to sift through all even though they have added ATS/HRIS filters. ChatGPT is enabling everyone to get past the filters still leaving 100's of resumes that fit the profile (accurately or not). Standing out from the crowd is harder than ever due to this challenge.
