Great video. I used to play this from 98-2003. I was in a squad named Zero and my gamer tag was Surreal. Used to also host a server named Club Surreal ... lol .. had a dedicated Roger Wilco chat with it too. This game was the best. Started it all.

When I played this back in the early days, I found a glitch on multi player map where if one jumped and lay down the same time on the second floor of a building, you would "fall" through the floor and then could see and snipe everyone without ever being seen or sniped by anyone else. Got my kill count quite high! haha!

this used to be my life! s2 Nitrous, TF Maestro, SS Oxygen, i remember joining AA american army my first ever team then on to CP capitol punishment where i worked my way to second in command then on to TF the family which became silent specialists and we won quite a few tawnys.

God i miss DF1. it was the only game series (as far as FPS shooters go) that felt truly open world... the multiplayer aspect allowed the stealthy, ninja types to truly shine. I remember using the .50 cal and scope stalking somebody as they bunced around their spawn point or various locations and they were completely unaware of me. If you were a decent shot with a sniper rifle, you could take advantage of the terrain and hide prone on the slope of a mountain and not worry about relocating until after your 4th or 5th shot...no modern FPS like COD can come close to matching that. I wish they had a modern day game built on vast open terrains like DF was

Funky Cold 84 You are so right. I loved playing as an unaffiliated sniper on squad open servers. Patience paid sweet dividends in that game and many, many times I spent the first 5 or more minutes of a match not firing a single shot, but instead finding the right spot to pick off the enemy. Like clockwork, kill half a dozen from one area and they'd send 1 or more to hunt you which could be picked off from 3 hills behind.
