Thank you from Spain. This drug is really very dificult, and unfortunately the professionals and the society in Spain they are not prepared for this problem. Is strange because Spain is the second pais in Europe where more benzodiacepines take the people.

So well put together and presented. Thank you for all you do. I am 40 months off Ativan after taking it for 30 years. Prescribed in 1991 for a cancer diagnosis. I can say BIND has been absolute hell for me. It’s inhumane and has to stop. Thank you again for trying to make a difference. 🙏
@joecephus4151Ай бұрын
As a retired therapist who worked extensively within the medical model, I agree BIND is a nightmare for some who have taken prescript benzos. However, I've also known others who did not experience problems. For some it's a curse and for others it's a Blessing, and prescribers often are doing harm but don't even know it. IMHO they should be schedule II, and I would not wanna take them nor would I encourage anyone else to. But I do have to acknowledge they help some people, but should NEVER be prescribed long term, i.e. years or even decades. Thanks for all you are doing here.

Omg i was polyprescribed too! Xanax, klonopin, AND valium, ambien, soma, gabapentin, topamax, three antidepressants, a mood blocker, a beta blocker. When it got into the double digits the pharmacists blacklisted my dr. Which lead me to not be able to fill my meds and i almost died. He too had me on 90mg of Adderall a day! I JUST switched to long acting xanax .... Cold turkied EVERYTHING else. BUUUUUT i was getting interdose BAAAAD. But if i didnt take a full two mg id start convulsing. So i couldnt space it out to get out of interdose. So i JUST switched to extended release xanax to start tapering soon. I feel ALOT better but i still feel the withdrawal at times ESPECIALLY in the morning. Im noticing that ppl who go to detox? Have a HORRIBLE experience but arent getting protracted longer than 2 years (just basing all my information together) and then theyve "mostly healed". While others who taper klonopin seem to get into protracted no matter what they do. I THINK its cuz one passes the brain blood barrier and one doesnt. Not sure. Im SCARED especially with the elections etc .... Its sad i got SOOOOZ SUICIDAL EVERY SINGLE MORNING until i got on extended release.

I'm 61. Is it really worth it to wait and hope that I'll be better? The FDA black box label is a joke! Patients don't know this because there's no legal requirement to provide informed consent! No legal requirement to warn Patients and provide medication education. I have been so traumatized by the psychiatric community and the health care system as a whole! So dehumanizing and humiliating. We are human lab animals. Once you have a mental illness you are a label and no longer a person with a soul and a life. I have no family or friends. Clonazepam was forcibly stopped 4 and 1/2 months ago and can't function. Agoraphobia and severe neuropathic pain,insomnia. I'm 61. I don't want to die like this. I don't understand how this could happen to me. How can doctors prescribe this poison and sleep. They wouldn't do this to themselves.

Then in flow state until late night, then insomnia. Wash rinse repeat. Been off adderal over a year. Can't open my heart now, devastating, heavy depression. Before his i knucked down, did wim hoff breathing, lots of walking, so much i just couldn't do it any more. Decided to white knuckle it. Got down to 1.5 back up to 2 now. I appreciate the feedback from our community, including those who have had difficulties reaching us or felt our services weren't accessible. Your experiences are valid, and I sincerely apologize for any frustration or disappointment. As a small practice dedicated to helping people affected by benzodiazepines and other psychiatric medications, we face challenges in meeting the high demand for our services. We're committed to providing personalized care to our established patients, which sometimes limits our capacity to respond to all inquiries as promptly as we'd like. It's important to note that events like this talk, along with our podcasts and articles, are part of our broader mission to support the community. We dedicate significant time to these efforts to share information that may help those who can't access our direct services. We acknowledge that our concierge model isn't suitable for everyone, and we're actively exploring ways to improve our communication and accessibility. There's no one-size-fits-all approach in this field, as each individual's needs are unique. To those struggling, please know that there are resources available beyond our practice. We encourage you to seek support from patient advocacy groups and explore other healthcare providers who may be able to assist you. We remain committed to serving our community and continually improving our practice. Thank you for your understanding as we work to balance providing specialized care with broader outreach and education.

Thank you Dr Christy for your story & bravery. Here in Australia it’s gone nutz . While a growing awareness of the overprescribing is good - real time monitoring has been abused & patients are being cancelled with no tapering options. I have asked several pharmacists if they’re ever assisted in a taper . No . These stories have to be told & the bravery here is inspiring.

Asking for a friend she took D) all of the above, basically a long list of stuff you listed and then some. But the one that did her in to a hyper agitated state was the Valium. if she was to get back on any of them is that the one you'd recommend, the one that she took last and withdraw from?

I appreciate this gentlemen’s optimism. I will, however, say that counseling and therapy is often useless for those of us either in acute or heavily symptomatic. In some cases, it can even be harmful in that we may experience the secondary trauma of being further gaslit. Med-informed therapists are hard to come by thus the demand for withdrawal coaches. I wasted quite a bit of money in therapy in the early months and wish I had just spent that money on sessions with Baylissa or another withdrawal coach.
@jakeressler33210 ай бұрын
I’m said gentleman. I don’t recommend all therapies, as not all are appropriate during the recovery process. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, however, is incredibly beneficial during recovery, as it’s a mindfulness-based therapy that can help to process the struggle with symptoms.
