I see a lot of young Sean Johnson and benji Marshall in him and being a rugby union fullback they kick a lot we would just have to develop his game management he could be a top half back

Will be interesting to see how he goes in our sg ball set up.. certainly has great footwork i agree..

Nice work. I still feel our squad is too unbalanced. Need to do a trade or two with Canberra. Considering how well their forwards did last night and horsing come back. Trey money doesn’t look like he will see much if any NRL again this year. They could def use a backup half or an outside back or two.
@BulldogsElite9 ай бұрын
Cheers mate.. i definitely agree on our middles depth there is an ongoing issue in my opinion.. not sold on a half either.. i think the outside backs we should be ok.. Trey Mooney is one guy i definitely consider and you’re right they have some options there. Hola probably another

Hey mate , pretty fair , if you’re putting Poasa in the 17 , I’d have him starting to soften up the boys a little bit before putting Sam Hughes in . Yep Blake taafe needs to acclimatise to the speed of first grade and do it quickly . Salmon would be 13 as Curran will need to play prop as well as second row and lock .
@BulldogsElite9 ай бұрын
Hey mate i think Curran will need to cover prop but i would start him at lock. Poasa could start but i just feel Hughes could go a little longer and if he can start doing that more and more each week its going to really benefit the team.. he could start Salmon i like him off the bench really good option from there with what he offers. Anyway just my thought
@jamescochrane13109 ай бұрын
Pretty safe selection and a very likely team. Our first 2 games are against big packs so it would be good to have some size on the bench. Water the sharks game I think Taafe is on notice I think the trials count and he will get a max of 3 games at the back. Especially considering how Gus talked about Tracey on 6 tackles. We also gave Tracey a 3 year deal while Taafe is on a 2 year one. I think if Tracey was fit all preseason he would be the 1. Another good thing is we had by far the most intense trial in the sharks game. With both teams very intense. Parra also came out hard but tits didn’t match. We probs had the trial closest to NRL rd 1 intensity.
@BulldogsElite9 ай бұрын
Yep i agree mate. I think Taaffe selection was made a lot easier because of Traceys late start to pre season. He will put pressure on which is a good thing.. and if we can add size even for less minutes from the bench i think it will definitely help during stages of the game.

Seeing as we signed Tracey for 3 years might be hard to crack nrl in the centres for us. Do you think he could transition into a second rower. We are not quite as stacked there after kiks and Preston.
@BulldogsElite11 ай бұрын
Thats a great point. I definitely think in a couple years he could transition into an edge fwd, but for now hes main concern is playing weekly at centre and being a backup.. then we can see how the likes of Tracey and Xerri fare and where Critta ends up also..

Do you think the signing of Taaffe and especially Tracy mean the club has lost a bit of confidence in Joash Papalii coming through as a fb? He had a great year with the clutch conversion in flegg. But to me he looked like he has bulked up a bit too much and maybe lost the speed needed to be a gun nrl fb? Maybe the club see him as a centre/half/lock now?
@BulldogsElite11 ай бұрын
Hey mate, no I don’t think so, certainly not as a player anyway. They hold him in high regard and while hes making the transition to nrl he can be developed not only as a fullback (even though i see him as one) but in a few positions. I think he will be Cup fullback and he probably will see some nrl during the season, whether he starts or from the bench. I think those 2 signings give us scope in a few positions and allow someone like Joash to come through when ready.

Thanks mate. It can be confusing especially when players outside the squad are used aswell and of course when players moved on. Lets hope so and a bit more clarity on what the plan is for next season. Look forward to it
