Yep, this was the problem. Hole was on the backside. Engine light came on after going to jiffy lube and they always pull the filter for show and tell.

Goodness gracious thanks... I've been searching on the internet... I've been pondering this thing till I'm going nuts...more nuts,🥜😕... I hope I'm not being rude by making a wrong judgment... Your accent certainly isn't from Texas... So I'm so glad that you came here/ America. I'm so glad that you're smart and wanting to help... Thank you for helping this distraught silly American to install simple a toll tag!🎉... And all the other good stuff I overlooked!

I saw the thumbnail and title and my first thought is the only way to fix this tire is to get a new one. No reputable shop should do a repair on this. Needs a new tire. Sucks though, I literally had a screw today in almost the same spot as this vid in a tire I bought less than a week ago, only 50 miles on the tire. Put my spare on and will get a new tire tomorrow. This vid just has so many things wrong. Using jack wrong. Using reamer wrong Repairing tire that is unsafe to repair.

I thank you for encouraging folks to DIY. But three things need to be addressed. 1) that is not the way to use the scissor jack. The iron specifically has a square in it to engage it with the hook portion twisting the jack screw. A BIG reason is to keep the person using the jack safely away from an unstable vehicle. 2) That is way too much lube on the plug. A lot will increase that chances of the plug walking out while driving. 3) That is not an acceptable PERMANENT solution for that tire plug. It is WAY WAY WAY too close to the sidewall. As the tire flexes while cornering, it will eventually spit that plug. This is only a temporary fix, to get you to a repair shop to replace the now junk tire. Please know, this is not anecdotal advice. It is words from hard learned life lessons making mistakes I’ve survived.

That was great explanation. If you take it to tire shop, they will do similar job, in case if you would like to change the entire tire.

Yeah... Never ever shoulder plug a steer tire, just know the risks, to anyone reading this comment if you have to do this move the tire to the rear of the vehicle never use a shoulder plugged tire for steering, that tire is no good, in my eyes, in anytire shop guys eyes. if this is your only option, just please dont use the shoulder plugged tire in the front, i lost my uncle to this, he plugged a steer tire in the shoulder and the belts came undone in a blowout 20 miles down the road, know the risks and if you go forward with it at least try to be safe, for yourself and the others on the road.

@@emer07jiffy This is an emergency use at best. If you don't have a spare tire use a plug until you can limp to a safe zone. It is not meant for driving on normally.

@brokentombot im aware of that, my main point is id switch the tire to the rear of the vehicle, so that way if it does blow out it wont be as dangerous

You disassembled the cylinder. That's not the same as removing it from the chair, and destroys the cylinder
