What vacuous questioning by Saunders verging on utter rudeness. Asking her age in that mannere and then going into the Korean War. No discretion at all and Chung is visibly uncomfortable. He is so awkward and unprofessional. Could barely bring himself to say thank you and to call her name. As cold as a block of ice and of course so condescending, typically British.

I love her music from longtime but now I wonder whether I prefer her different interviews to her music. Young Chung is so charming. I feel her eyes were beyond this world. Very impressed.

The you get brother who liked the piano and stayed with it was Myung-Hoon Chung who became a conductor.

Her family certainly was very very affluent, the family moved piano to southern part of S Korea when Korean War started. Very few house in S Korea owned the piano in 1940s and 50s. 99% of Koreans affected by Korean War many starved, her family continued musical education even during Korean War which is very hard to imagine.

연주자의 연주 자체에 대한 이야기에 이르기까지 겪어야하는 질문이 너무 많네요. 한국에 대한 이미지가 정말 음악과는 어울리지 않았나보네요.^^;

Some babbling coming from one sorry individual with a very small brain. Sour grapes, no doubt. This legendary violinist needs no acknowledgement from someone so.. well, insignificant (and bitter). The violinist's name carries so much weight already -- a name that exemplifies musical excellence.

I do love her reference to Galamian. My teacher does the same, she refers to him as Mr. Galamian, as if he's a normal man who teaches the violin. It's sad that we're passing into a generation of violinists that will never know a teacher who studied with "Mr." Galamian, but I suppose that those who studied with him felt the same way. I did love the interview, and I got here from her recording of the Dvorak Romance. Superb, simply superb.
