I also have other symptoms of asthma and was wondering if you are born with asthma or if it can develop at a certain age? Thanks, doc. really love your videos! ❤

Hey dr.Reena i am in my teenage years, i lately have been having issues with my breathing when playing soccer with my friends. I have had issues with excirsizing since i was 10. I noticed that over the years it got worse, i am at the point that it takes me 10-20 minutes to get my breathing back to normal, after/during a soccer game. I can start wheezing 1 minute into the game. I have lately been wondering if it could be asthma and if I should go to a doctor and get a check up. I timed myself with a stop watch and i can hold my breath for 30 seconds so i thought that was a good amount of time but not sure. I know you said coughing is a huge part of asthma but i usually only only have shortness of breath and wheezing. When i was younger like about 7 years old i would be laying in my bed and suddenly it would heart to breathe and my back would hurt there would be a sense of sharp pains.

I have difficulty breathing eith faint wheezing few nights / year since kindergarten when allergic rhinitis gets really bad. I knid of get away with it by fixation and use of accessory muscles and it will gone in 1hr. Also, I used to cough heavily whenever I have athletic training after the first 5-10mins. But I ak fine if I don't push myself towards my limits. However, starting this year as I started working, things get much worse. I had episodes day and night, waking by dyspnea, with much higher frequency. I am having symptoms 3-4 times a week, waking up by dyspnea twice per week. Having RR over 30, resting HR > 130, occassionally desaturation SpO2 90-94. I went to see doctor and he gave me spirometry test. It turns out normal with spirometry and bronchodilator reversibility test. So he said I have no asthma. However, comparing to the spirometry tests I played around during uni training, my FEV1/FEV ratio gone down from 91% to 86%. Doctor had me screened woth ECG and chest Xray but no abnormalities found. I had an episode last Wed. During work, I was painting while writing documentations. I was waiting for symptoms to resolve, but it seems to be worsening. I didn't noticed that I get deteriorated so much that when my supervisor ask if I am okay, I could bearly whisper a few words only. And I think I am not as alert as I normally are already. Luckily I am no longer gasping for air with 4 puffs of Ventolin. But still dizzy for 1 hr, with SpO2 stays 94-95. And I was very lucky that time I have finished seeing all the patients and only documentation at ward was left, so I could take my time to recover. I noticed smoke, temple scents, dust and grass pollen triggers both allergic rhinitis and breathing difficulties. And recently the ward I am working has an outbreak of Candida Auris, and the cubicals are under cleaning all the time. I feels shortness of breath every time I enter, and improves if I am wearing N95. So I was like I have apparent symptoms and tests are all normal, so what am I having?

Hello it's me again, i just have to ask again. So i underwent a spirometry test in med school because I was suspecting I had Asthma, even tho i never faced any shortness of breath during the day. Only exercise caused it. So had an Fev1 of 80 Percent 5 years ago which my doctor did not ask me about before I went to University. We did the same test in medical school and it stayed at Fev1 80%. They give me an Salbutamol puff and my Fev1 did not increase. I was put on Fluticasone and no my FEV1 is 100 % how can this be?? Do I have irreversible airway remodeling since the Salbutamol did not help but why then does the Fev1 turn out normal when I use an ICS with long acting bronchodilator? Is the Inhaled corticosteroid opening my lungs 🫁 but why does the bronchodilator don't do it ? I'm a little bit a afraid about corticosteroids side effects and wanted to get on Ciclesonide, can you recommend it ?

I had asthma for 2 weeks that lead to Pneumonia. I cannot nebulize continuously as it has side effect on me. I stopped using inhaler as it increases my heart rate, from 100 - 120 bpm. The cough didn't go away and then one day I felt like I couldn't breathe deeply, I felt so tired and had low grade fever. The next day I went to another doctor and had x ray. The result came in and it said I have Pneumonia on the left lung and the doctor confirmed it. I am on antibiotics until now.
