Yes, in fact you can route any mic to all the channels and any or all outputs on the board.

Make sure you chose the DIGI 003 ADAT out's as your audio outputs in your PC (if that is possihle) and then in the Tascam DM make sure you are routing the ADAT In's to mixer channels.

Any idea how to send a stereo mix through aux 1.
@rockumk

Sorry I saw this after so much time. Here goes... -1) Pick a pair of channels -2) In the upper left hand of the console, in the OUTPUT ASSIGN section turn off STEREO (avoid feedback) -3) In the ROUTING screen INPUT tab, select Stereo L and Stereo R as the inputs to the 2 channels -4) In the MODULE section of the console, use the AUX SEND pots to set the level sent -5) Make sure that AUX 1 is assigned to a channel or output and make sure that channel is OUTPUT ASSIGN - STEREO deselected to again avoid feedback.

Am I correct in saying that soft inserts can be used with outboard gear as well? I realize that live audio examples would be time consuming but they would so helpful. Just a thought!

Absolutely, the assignable sends and returns would make a pretty obvious first choice for most users, but if you have external digital to analog and analog to digital converters for each compressor you wished to hook up you could also use the DIN, DOUT, ADAT, TDIF, or slot cards to provide a pathway to and from your gear. That might even be your preference if you had high-end converters. The only disadvantage I see in using the soft inserts is that you lose an input and an output. Depending on one's setup that may not be an issue. I'll see if I can make a graphic to display common uses.

Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us Robert. It's great to see that someone has taken the initiative to start posting some new tutorials. They mean so much to people like me who are just starting out. The learning process can certainly feel overwhelming at times. Have a good one. Peter

I enjoy making them and it forces me to get the concepts for the functions clear in my own mind. I'm hoping to get a better camera than my Galaxy III in the future.
