Overall, although it is very crowded and is running way beyond its capacity size, I think that the airport itself isn't bad at all, and is actually pretty good, despite the limited options there. You need to remember that you're on a small island, although it is the largest island of Greece, and that there's limited space and they can only do so much with it. Yes, there are pros and cons, but I think that the pros outweigh the cons. I've flown to this airport many times, so I might have some sort of favoritism towards it, but overall, HER isn't that bad, compared to many other airports in Greece or around the world! Luckily though, you will get your nice Kastelli Airport in a couple of years, which will get rid of your entitledness on how you want your airport to be!
@swissclimber125 күн бұрын
Kastelli Airport is eagerly awaited by travelers who should be welcomed and depart from a quality facility worthy of the quality of Crete itself. HER is a terrible reflection on the greatness of Crete

@@swissclimber1 On one of the floors you can notice a gap between the doors, and you used to be able to see the outline where a door to a presently non-existent room once was. Rumor has it that a murder/suicide once occurred in that room and they sealed it off and never rented it out or even went back in there again. Some people who have stayed in the rooms on either side of that room have reported hearing arguing voices, screaming, and gunshots through the walls coming from that room. But I've never been able to find any news of a murder/suicide that may have occurred there.

Just go to the traing office and tell them BUY FAST NON-STOP TRAING at 10euros+ is OK, yes? Did you find any luggage store there? thinking take a train to Florence after one day tour at POMPEII. Thanks!
@swissclimber12 ай бұрын
Sorry about the late reply! I didn't see this. First off, there are 1-2 trains per hour. Plenty of options to get to Pompeii. Your train starts at Sorrento so there will be not many people there. More people will board after Sorrento. No need to take the Non-Stop train, take the local train unless you have lots of money. Relax! The station at Pompeii in my video is the station that you will use for Pompeii visit. Sorry I don't recall about luggage keep - I think there is but it's in the basement. If that doesn't work you will see a restaurant in my video. Talk to the family that owns and runs the restaurant - they may store this for you for free IF you eat and spend maybe 50 EURO there?

I was there in last October and it was way more crowded than on the video. For departure I arrived 4 hours before security was open for my flight but there were not enough chairs where to sit and wait. I was then sitting directly on the floor.
