I heard someone rephrase the line “love others as (even while you) love yourself”. I am realizing how true this is. To put oneself aside entirely is not healthy. And it is not appreciated because if you do not value yourself, others don’t either. Eye opening for sure.

Don't be fooled by how he uses the word kindness...what he means by kindness is what we call co-dependency today. He is talking about a form of dysfunction.

He doesn't say to be ruthless, he merely says it's a ruthless world. Did Jesus assert His need? Yes He did...He said "I thirst". The kindness he's talking about is what we know as co-dependency, a form of dysfunction.

@@theonecounttheonecount8477 My education and experience in the people helping professions, and my theology degree, tells me not to care what you think, because you don't have a grasp of the subject matter. The Bible says to share one another's burdens, but it doesn't say to share one another's PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES. That's what C.S. Lewis is talking about, allowing other people to VIOLATE your boundaries, especially if you are addicted to them ( co-dependency).

I was 16 when I prayed: "Lord I will not touch a girl before you gave me one." My Lord did, my sister brought her home. We did not have sex before we were married. We have 12 children and one of them is in heaven. We are married for 54 years and we love each other like it was the first day. We have 30 Grandchildren. Our first child died during birth. Our now oldest son was born one year later on the same date and even time. So God gave to me as I asked not to make that date a sad day every year.

Paradise and heaven are 2 different places. And there are many heavens, when we die we go to paradise. On judgment day, many souls will ascend to heaven from paradise.

Be alert, accept Jesus wholeheartedly, repent of your sins, the end is near, there is a little while to go before the rapture, we are already in the apocalypse.
