I Merman was a underused villain in this show. He is great I think Trap Jaw and some others were overused. I think Merman was also a underrated villain.

Just like Tri-Klops, Merman got to little episodes on this tv series. They should also have made 1 or 2 episodes when they were the only villains in those episodes. To bad we didnt got it. I feel that we NEEDED it.

A jewel that is said to control a powerful monster & obey whoever has it?..... Someone in the Pokémon staff must've been huge He-Man & used that particular episode plot line for the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald games.

Amazing that in the whole 130 episode entirety of the series, Mer-Mans screen time can be condensed to only 26 minutes and 24 seconds. Time is a funny thing

Not to mention that Merman was once a monarch of his own kingdom, until he got drunk with power & was exiled by his own people. Which is why Skeletor picked him as one of his henchmen.
