God never meddle/interfere in man's affairs, not even in our prayers. Suffering comes from free will to choose between dualities God himself put in this world. All our thoughts, words and actions are governed by the divine Law of Karma. "What you sow, so shall you reap." People die young, with congenital diseases, die of wars, earthquakes, typhoons, floods, tsunamis, etc. Why bad things happen to good people, etc. Karmic reactions.
