Thank you! Do you think these would scratch an F150 painted mirror during the install/removal or while in use? I only tow the trailer 10 or so weekend trips a year.

Thanks for reviewing these. I think these are going to be a good solution for me. I'm not a fan of the huge factory mirrors. Since I don't tow all the time these look like they will do the job perfectly.

I have had no issues using these mirrors, I also dont tow all the time so they have been perfect for my truck when I do tow.

@rebelfabricationllc27 күн бұрын
for the most part the trash in the paint is minimal. But that also comes down to a lot of good prep.
@vegitoblue790817 күн бұрын
@@rebelfabricationllc what if you wash the car before putting it in there. you should have close to nothing of dust I believe
@rebelfabricationllc17 күн бұрын
That is incorrect but washing it does help with reducing debris into your coatings. Prep work includes a lot of surface cleaning, blowing air into every seam, opening, hole etc.., then tack rag wiping, and repeat many times before rolling it into a booth. Then you basically do the same process over again once the car is in the booth. The more time you spend cleaning the less time you will spent fixing debris in your paint. Additionally, you can get debris into your coatings from your clothing, from the floor/walls, really anywhere that air pressure from spraying can stir up.

The reallity of these Chinese cheap lathes are that they are horribly built and will likely not work out of the box. Yes, they can be made to work if you have the time and patience.

Ran across your first video as Matthias Wendel has a Vevor and I'm thinking of getting one. Gotta say, you sound like a hard-head, blame the tool kind of guy. Great that you got a book to clap back at the commenters, too bad you haven't either read it or watched any basic tutorials. A full 6 months after your first video, and its clear you've got a twist in the bed which is going to cause tapers and other issues. Every tutorial on YT and the internet and library discusses checking the bed for twist as on of the most important first tasks to do. Half a year since first video you've been running it like that, and your update is to complain about the tool again.... Might want to stick to paint and bodywork, cause you're lighting up all sorts of forums and other YT channels as an example of how not to get into machining,

Hey man if you want to make a cool looking slug for that casing you could cast one using pewter or lead. Pewter is a little safer and you can find old pewter dishes at any 2nd hand store. It doesnt take a lot of heat to melt and even if the casting is crude you could throw it in the lathe and touch it up. I order a vevor latge as well and its nice to see a few videos made about them.

You need to sort the twist out of your lathes bed, otherwise you'll always cut a taper. Lots of tutorials for it online. Fairly easy to do, just need to shim the bolts that hold the bed to the base.

Hope you have weight distribution bars and sway control on that Coleman. They are notorious for sway and flipping. Best of luck.

have had one of these for five years and mine is belt drive, it has stood up well for a cheap lathe, haven't used it to cut threads yet, I would go for a good old Atlas or American lathe if I had it to do over, but at the time it was hard to find a small decent American made lathe, miss having my old war production lathe from the 40s
