I was there, just for Big Country. I tell my kids I was at Freddie Mercury’s last gig but just went for the support band and they think I’ve lost the plot!

Wow! Finding this gem has just brought a tear to a 55yr olds eye at 1am in the morning. My first ever gig. Not only did it enhance my love for Stuart and the band as a teenager, it also brought The Big Dish into my life. Two awesome Scottish bands. The world has been a duller place without you Mr Adamson 😢❤

Big Country had quite a few appearances on UTV back in the day, there's a great one of Stuart and Steve Harley on the Kelly Show playing Come Up And See Me.

I just now discovered this, and am I the only one who thinks the first version/the demo is better than the second version? :o And the second version is the one recorded by the band? I just...I can't help but think that Bruce is far more a genius songwriter (musically) than anyone has ever properly given him credit for. GAH. Needless to say, I LOVE this. Thank you so much for sharing, and it's especially neat to hear both versions!

I went to Big Country 1994 in Dallas, TX, this sounds exactly like they jammed, what a bad ass band live and recorded.

I was there. My first gig. Nothing has come close since.

I just learned that Vincent Friel ( Will the wolfman ) passed on the 14th of April this year (2024) aged just 64 ....r.i.p

Porrohman, Steeltown and the Storm are the Big 3 for me.

I quite like this version. It’s got a slightly brighter feel to it. Fantastic music, well crafted. Too young to have seen them in concert as the original lineup, wish I had.
