M y kitchenaid dishwasher does not have an external light. We got it into diagnostic mode and closed the door . How do we know it has finished the diagnostics. How long do we wait. one post I found said it could take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes to complete
@NateFixesIt
@NateFixesIt Күн бұрын
For me it just took a few seconds (the video is real time, no cutaway). If you get to diagnostic mode and you don’t get a flashing sequence, it could mean that your dishwasher hasn’t self-identified an issue.

Hello. Fellow farm boy turned mechanical engineer. I've done this before. I can't remember if I applied glue to the plug before inserting. I'm amazed these plugs work. I'm not sure how they seal. Is it a chemical bond? Do you wait a certain amount of time to allow the bond to form before adding air. Some say to use a patch inside the tire instead.
@NateFixesIt
@NateFixesIt 22 күн бұрын
Growing up on a farm I learned how to fix a lot of things because it seemed like something was always breaking, I am sure that you did too! The patches I use don’t require any additional glue (they are sticky on their own). I think that the seal is mainly from the interference fit between the hole size and the doubled over plug. I expect that you could use this method to patch from the inside of the tire, but the bend in the plug is probably better to have on the inside is I think it would add some resistance against the plug being forced out through the hole. Going through the outside also saves you the work of taking off the tire, remounting it, and rebalancing it. No wait time before refilling with air, which also implies that this isn’t a chemical bond. I’ve patched around 6 tires this way over the years on my own vehicles and every single patch has lasted the remaining life of the tire, and some were pretty new when I patched them!
@nicholas8479
@nicholas8479 22 күн бұрын
@@NateFixesIt No, I mean applying a patch, similar to patching an inner tube, on the inside of the tire. It is more work, and I've only seen the shops do it. They claim it's better than the plug, but I've also had good luck with the plugs.
@NateFixesIt

@@nicholas8479Sorry, got you. Plugs are considered to be a temporary fix, and a patch a permanent solution. That said, plugging has always worked permanently for me, and is a much faster easier solution!

What buttons do this is model dependent. If the buttons above don’t match. Try the three left most buttons and the three right most buttons. For some models any three buttons in order will work. If none of those work for you, you’ll need to provide the model number. Feel free to try any of the combos, it won’t hurt anything to try them.

Worked for me once. Then it did it again and wouldn’t start . Had tech try and it started for him 😐. Didn’t use for a couple weeks and it would not start again. Followed directions and still wouldn’t start. Pulled plug, a little rusty looking but gap was ok, and it was dry. Changed gas to stihl can fuel. Almost started but died and will not start. What the heck?!!!? This thing is only 1 month out of the box
@NateFixesIt
@NateFixesIt 25 күн бұрын
This doesn’t sound like a flooding issue. Something is wrong if you’re getting rust on the spark plug. Sounds more like bad fuel with water in it. Even if you changed to Stihl fuel, there would still be some of the old fuel in the lines.
@NEPA_independent
@NEPA_independent 25 күн бұрын
@@NateFixesIt Thank you for responding! I pulled the air filter and was able to get running, then adjusted the idle and chain. Plan to run it down to no fuel then refill and let sit for a few days to see if the issue recurs. I think the filter and maybe water in the fuel may have been the issue.

@NateFixesIt
@NateFixesIt 27 күн бұрын
Good question. There was lath on the whole floor, I cut it to fit in every nook and cranny. I think what you are seeing is some areas had two layers of lath and some were single. You need at least an inch of overlap, but in some areas I had much more because it was easier to have a lot of overlap than to cut each piece precisely for the minimum overlap.
