I've been dealing with this problem for at least 2 years, i tried cleaning the contacts, bypassing and removing the potentiometer but it always comes back, today i said f**k it, and redid every single soldering on the board, because tapping on top of the switch while it was plugged made the problem appear, but there weren't any obvious cold joints, except a resistor leg completely desoldered (factory defect or old age?) If this doesn't hold up i'm either replacing the PWM controller, MOSFET and electrolytic capacitor on the board, or i'm simply gonna use the method shown on this video.👍🏻 I will keep you all updated.

you do not need to disassemble the light once its out! Just pick up the copper and swivel it up out of the way to access the smaller map light bulbs!

Very helpful video! Drew my attention to the previously unrealised, and apparently rather important, fact that the rear/brake light bulb is a DUAL filament one! This knowledge can, at the very least, stop you being pulled over by the police because your brake light is permanently on 🤦😁 No harm done in my case, but be aware that just because a bulb may look right, and fit right, it still might not BE right 😁

04 focus and it's starting running it's been a few days of it but now 5 days later it's stalled out driving down the Rd and willstart again but now it's stalling out say not even 30 seconds later stalls out .

Thank you for the tip. I didn't follow it, but you led me to the cause and inspired me to try out an even more ghetto solution that worked: spray WD40 through all the buttons while rotating them (in order to clear out the contacts inside). I done it today and it seems to have worked - still need to wait a few days to see if it holds - but hey, if anyone else wants to try it, give it a shot.

Dont put to much oil on your filter, it can clogsup the air sensor in your intake.

ok, so they aren't suppose to rotate just by hand when they r on?... cause i found mine so loose a lot... i could rotate the them by hand.. i dont have a torq wrench but so how tight ahould i make them?
