@ I actually retired a few years ago from John Deere. I was an IT analyst there and before that a finance manager at Pioneer Hi-Bred. Those roles involved a lot of business communications, some speeches and many meetings I had to lead. This hobby is helping me keep my mind sharp while doing something I enjoy. Thanks for asking.

@@ciborg86 thank you! This is only a hobby for me. No desire for internet fame. I mostly make the longer videos for myself so I remember how I built it the trucks. 🤪 but yeah, this hobby can be a great way to stay sharp. I just found out I’m getting ready to start my second battle with cancer and having this as an escape definitely helps keep my mind off of it.

Great job! How did you do the walls? Are they embossed paper? or is that etched and painted foam?

@@Benjamins_RC_Channel thanks for your question. Almost everything you see is 3D printed including the brick panels and wood beams. I printed them with color filament and then watered down some black acrylic paint to give it a more aged and dirty look. Was a very enjoyable project.

What links did you use for the smart car? While we are at it, where did you get the smart car?

@@tronstr since this thing is so short I had to custom build the links. I used 2mm threaded rods and bent rod ends from Amazon. Had to cut both drive shafts short too. Will make a video about the build soon. I bought the Smart Car files on Cults 3D and then modified in Bambu slicer to cut out fenders and add the squared offroad fenders. It was definitely a project, but loads of fun to build. Thanks for commenting and have a great day!

I couldn’t help but notice you must be an Utah kid. I am too! While I’ve never been to little Moab, I would like to get out there some time soon. I’ve been very near there shooting just up the road at Pelican Point many times. Are you in or around SLC? Where do you like to crawl for a quick getaway?

Thanks for commenting. I am actually from Iowa and took a dream crawler vacation to Utah recently. If you check out my Tiny Truck Travels playlist you’ll see several great spots near SLC. In the metro I visited Centennial Park, Sugar House Park and Canyon Hobbies. South of SLC are Chimney Rock and Little Moab. GPS coordinates are in the video descriptions. You are fortunate to be in such a great state. I love Utah and go there whenever I can.

I lived about a mile from Centennial park for many years, but haven’t gone back to try it for crawling, but I will. The next time you are in Utah, drop me a line and we’ll go out to Little Moab! It’s not a drop in, but you can put 4M Underdrive gears in the FMS axles with some shims and a new bearing. FB page had the recipe.

Great solution! I put a screw through the ball end and a dab of super glue on the washer and put that together. The screw will help you line everything up once it’s glued you can pull the screw out and the washer will be perfectly glued to the ball end

@@shawnbiers2506 I like that idea. Never thought of something like that. I still have slop from hole in ball end being too big for the screw. Was thinking of adding plumbers thread tape to the screw. Do you have any other suggestions?

@ or u can use the ruber shock O rings. The only problem with that is they like to disintegrate after a couple of years they get brittle unless you rub them with some Vaseline.

@ oh OK. I see what you mean. The only way to get rid of that is get some different rod ends.injoa has the right size Maybe you can get them and just switch out the ball studs so you still have your angled rod ends

I haven't really messed with 4WS yet, was thinking about getting a Spektrum transmiter to do it because it has the proportional knob (ch3 or ch4?). I like hotrod bodies. How do you like that motor? I've got one that i need to use, just haven't decided which build.

@@MrsRabbit8 4WS was one of the first things I wanted to do when I got into the hobby. It’s totally different than anything I’d done in RC before. I use the G7P radio - I like it, but don’t love it. The motor is super quiet and works well. I’m very happy with it.

I have some brass injora wheels and sticky tires coming tomorrow.. I already adjusted the shocks, trimmed the fenders and added some sticky wheel weights to the front. Even without the wheels and tires that helped. I like your moving the battery trick though. I may have to do that one day when I get time to mess around with it. Honestly I don’t plan on spending a lot on this and keeping it a budget build because it’s so good out the box already
