I worked at the New England Produce Center in the 70's. The trucking industry had an eclectic bunch of perishable haulers! Summer vacation time was amazing. It was not unusual for entire families (and the dog) to be on the road with Dad! Some trucks were really held together with duct tape and baling wire.

i wonder how many drivers in those old GMC's needed hearing aids by 55 years old.im sure those old cabs werent too insulated.a 6 71 screaming @2350 rpms all day took its toll.my own hearing suffers from 6v 92's & 8v 92's with new donaldson mufflers after 15 years.but ours were limited to 2k rpm.

Such an enormous pity we didn't get 4070B in Australia, instead we got a crayfish with a birdscarer and no decent sleeper😒

This shows the days where a fellow could make a solid living driving a truck. Those days seem to be long gone.

I remember reading on every Midwestern Distribution trailers back doors,"you can own a truck like this for a dollar" I guess it was a lease purchase deal
@ralphmoore88955 ай бұрын
My dad used to own one of those but I don't remember what year it was it was one of the most beautiful ugly trucks he ever owned besides the diamond rio. Unfortunately the Emeryville and him get ran over by a train in Midland Pennsylvania at a steel mill thank God there were no seat belts in the old trucks. It's spinning out

Time Capsule , good lookin ride not all pimped , or Resto Rodded out , or a football field long overloaded with chromed up. Just as it was when rolled out of Peterbilt and still ready to go to work.

Owned and drove an international ‘66 CO4000 and an ‘80 KW A model. A friend of mine owned a White with the 2 arrows design exactly like in the video. Drove it several times

Brings back lots of memories . My three favorite trucks I drove were a 1959 B-61 Mack , A 1962 Emeryville , and a 1978 White-Freightliner ( one of the last made and one of the few with a 1978 title as they split in January 1978 ).

Recently learned Butch has been gone now for over a year. Thank you for this memory. Used to run into him at various dairy plants and see him on the road..such a class act. As for his truck, I’m hoping something meaningful in his honor was done with it, whatever his wishes were. Very special bond he had with it!
