Great performance, very beautiful on many levels. I am the only person in my neighbourhood who listens to iranian music, no one has ever heared about it. Sometimes I feel like music is telling stories from peoples life, maby something very personal and sad. I guess the song is about longing for a loved one, or, more generally speaking, the desire to change one's life for the better. Of course I don't know the original language and I have no knowledge about iranian poetry to interpret the lyrics 100% correctly. Wishing you success, I am always waiting for your and your colleague's content.❤

God, those rhythms are so good. Thanks for sharing! Thurayya seems like 7/8, not 5/8. (3-2-2)

I think I figured it out…. It took a while though, haha. 😅 DrtTkTk DrtTkTk DrtTkTk DrtTkTK DrtTkTk DrtTkTK DrtTkTk DrtTkTKD (The accents on the last K’s of each section vary a bit in her fast and slow recording. The one I’ve written out is when she plays it fast.)

Please explain more about the left hand. It seems like there is some interaction between the palm and the rim of the drum that is helping create some whip on your fingers

I got a dodgy darbuka the head doesn't line up flat with the rim so it's hard to get the slaps sounding right.
@tastelesstouch
@tastelesstouch 3 ай бұрын
I’m in the same boat. I have to hit the rim really hard to get a good tek and ka sound but it feels like I’m working too hard. I tried tuning it up to get the head flush but it choked the sound even more so I’m just frustrated at this point. Did you ever get your issue figured out or try a new drum head?
@GeordiLaForgery
@GeordiLaForgery 3 ай бұрын
@@tastelesstouch I couldn't fix as it's a manufacturing fault so a new head skin would have same problem. I think a metal grinder would help to put right but I have no skills in that department! Hope to get a better darbuka someday so I can practice, good luck I hope yours can be fixed.
