I prefer not to train my service dog to bark in public regardless of tasking as I personally see it as 'out of control behavior'. When I used to lose consciousness, it would only be for a few seconds so I'd prefer to have her by me the entire time until I'm awake. Every person's disabilities are a little different than another so in certain situations, task barking to alert others nearby could be helpful (such as a seizure or maybe someone who doesn't recover from unconsciousness quickly), just not for us. 😊

This is clearly a training video. I’m glad their are dog trainers willing to get on the floor and imitate real disabilities so they can learn how to respond to them. Wonderful video!

Thank you! This is an older video of training simulations I would do with my personal service dog while I worked at a pet food store. Even though she is fully task trained, training is always continous to keep her prepared and it can still be enjoyable/fun! Thank you for your support! I will try to make more updated videos soon. 😊

I often see these videos and realize that if I had a service dog, it would make driving much easier. I got into an accident from a panic attack and have gotten close to accidents countless times due to anxiety. I also have severe ADHD and am autistic. But I'm scared to bring up the idea to my parents because they might think I don't need it. Not to mention the cost.

Talk to your doctor first if you're worried about bringing it up to your family. The cost can be expensive but you can always search around for estimates with different ADI accredited organizations, non accredited programs, and private trainers if you do not know how to train a dog yourself. Lotus was owner trained and then I went to an ADI accredited program after I considered her fully trained. Every story is a little different. 😊

It is SO VERY easy to see these beautiful ANGEL'S that have been entrusted in us to not only love and care about them, but to also ensure that if we LET them. They can and will do thing's we NEVER thought possible and/or give love (FREELY) on a level we will never understand... BUT we must ALWAYS remember the VERY special people that I believe are (hand selected) to enrich, enable and grow what already exists inside our FUR BABIES.! The people that are able to train these dogs are AMAZING to say the least. They too are very special. Putting everything they got (and then some)in these dogs knowing FULL well #1 they will NOT be keeping the dog, in fact their SUCCESS depends on it! That they will NOT be"meeting" the individual that receives the dog, which regardless of WHO we are, deep down..? We would LOVE to.! 🤗 There is so much more I could say about them, AND this very special Lady here. (I really don't know her) FOR REAL.! BUT I don't want to ramble... So either way BOTH (ALL)of the fur babies involved and the people that help to NURTURE those gifts are in themselves, a GIFT! Let's ALSO thank AND love them... 🤗🥰

(certified well-behaved) Pets should be allowed everywhere. With a few exceptions such as a sterile environment, things like that.

Restaurants can't due to health codes and some business don't want to have to deal with hosting more than just people which is fair, not everyone likes dogs or wants the hassle of upkeeping extra cleaning or providing water etc. There are many pet friendly businesses already and it's not like they're restricted from being out on the sidewalks, just non pet friendly places. I don't think the rules need to change on that. And even if there was a certification saying they're well behaved, if that was the only requirement, I'm sure people would buy scam certifications or lie about it as well like they do with service dogs already.

Although many people say it's not necessarily the best choice for psych work, it really depends on the temperment and training of the dog as well as how the handler reacts while in distress.

Dogs are awesome!!! I know mine,even though not a service dog has helped me through allot. They don’t pre-judge. They just love you unconditionally!!!
