How do you find that boat handles the bar when going out through the waves and swell?

How much work needs to be done to a bike you buy from a shop to perform at this level?
@TVTez3 жыл бұрын
Nothing much, that bike was very standard straight from the shop, when the original tyres wore out I just put some better ones on. I think the front was a pirelli super corsa and the rear a rosso 2. I also had a set of vector rear sets on it to lift my footpegs higher off the ground. The more confident I got with leaning it over, my original footpegs were dragging on the ground a lot.

cbr 250 moves quick on turns, is that due to thinner tires ?
@davefloyd94432 жыл бұрын
Smaller, lighter bike with thinner lighter wheels and tyres for less rotational mass, less rubber in the contact patch, less friction, lightweights are scalpels in the turns. Look at GP racing, corner apex speeds are invariably pretty close across all classes.

I have the same build on my 17 Raven. Just different brand but same pipe. I'm really curious on what numbers you put up. I haven't had the chance to dyno mine just yet.

Why no numbers?

Marshall Williams because sc project pipes are shit, Just noisy. I’ve had a lot of new r1’s on the dyno and I’ve seen better results with a link pipe and a standard can.

You embarrassed those guys on quick bikes through the corners.
@TVTez6 жыл бұрын
Thankyou, yeah some of the 600's were slowing me down, they were probably only doing a second or two a lap faster than me which they were getting down the straight. I was using a Pirelli Supercorsa on the front and it just gives you incredible confidence to push through corners, when some of them went past I was just out-turning them and letting them know I was still there.

to go to sea you need a better boat
@brettzimmer66247 жыл бұрын
What type and length of boat is this mate?
@TVTez7 жыл бұрын
It's a Brooker 4.35 metre "Getabout" with a 40hp 4 stroke Yamaha. It's been crossing that bar for 10 years or so and never done that before! We take it out to Montague Island which is about 9km off-shore when the seas are good.

I wouldn't even go to sea in a boat like that
@TVTez6 жыл бұрын
tunastrike11 It's a good weather boat so we choose when we head out there. The island is about 8km offshore, like i said it's been heading out there for a decade now.

Do you find you've learnt a lot tracking your 250? or is it too slow to be worth it?
@TVTez8 жыл бұрын
+510markman510 Definitely worth it. You put all those little things into constant practice on the track that you can't (or don't want to) on the road like emergency braking for instance. As for the speed, I won't lie and say I don't get jealous following a bigger bike through a corner exit and watching the line of black as they hit the power, but it's all relative as well. There's a video of the world launch of the 2015 R1 at this track on KZbin that you can compare. Through the fastest corner he's about 45kmh faster, and at the right hand hair pin he's about 20kmh faster. When you take into account that my video speeds are taken off a gps and his speedo is over-reading by 5-10%, the R1 is built to be a rocket, it's worth about five times what my CBR is, and the other rider is probably much better than me, then the little 250 is holding it's head up. Yep, get out there and you'll be a better rider :-)

Fell the previous day on the left at 16:03. I think there's an impression of my hand in the ground just left of the trail from where I went head first over the bars.
