When you do these small water crossings do you always select 4wd low range ? Then once out of the crossing switch back to 2wd ? Really liking the videos these places look amazing your going to 👍🏻 were from the uk and not doing our NT trip until July 2025 so a complete novice…I’ve never even driven a 4wd before or even a automatic so should be fun 😂 great video what a trip wow 👍🏻 el questro is our first stop from Darwin I know it’s amazing there as we’ve watch 100s of YT videos so looking forward to your take on the place 👍🏻 safe travels 👍🏻
@brunosrun82022 ай бұрын
@Neil-clare cheers thanks for the feedback, yeah 4wd for water crossings, not always 4 low when it's rocky and deep, 4 high maybe if it's a firmer smooth base. Used 4 high when towing on the the dirt roads

Not a bad idea avoid towing the caravan into Francois Peron National Park. My partner and I ended up having to help a couple out that were bogged to the axles. Its deceptively soft stuff. Luckily we got 'em out!

Hi Clint and Lucy, I'm feeling VERY guilty for not having messaged you sooner, but but Marianne and I most often watch KZbin on our TV, so the "drop a comment below" possibilities are not always available. So pleased to briefly meet up with you both at Daly Waters and wish we could have had a longer opportunity to learn more of your experiences. We particularly enjoyed your video because they more accurately connected with our own interests (although you both seem more likely to go swimming in a river/water hole than us). So many of the other vloggers are young things who seem to be out to prove something rather than just enjoy the travels. We actually don't mind being in the same place as other human beings. Unfortunately, not long after we met up with you, Marianne tripped badly while walking in Darwin (What are the odds? - We do grade 4 walks in the East MacDonnell Ranges and fall over on almost the main street of Darwin?) so, although we did get to visit Nitmiluk and Litchfield NP's, and spend a delightful week at Dundee Beach prior to "the fall", we had to turn around in Darwin and head back home to Phillip Island well before we had planned. Fortunately, Marianne didn't require surgery and we were safe to return back down the Stuart Highway. She has since fully recovered, although managed to crack some ribs (long story there) in the process. We have our son's engagement party happening soon and then (at last!!!!) we will head North again to Hervey Bay to pick up our new caravan at last, which we ordered in August of 2021. After we get the van home just prior to Christmas we aim to enjoy the warmer months (perhaps?) down here before heading off again next year. Our plan is to cross the Nullarbor, head to Perth via Kalgoorlie and then work our way up the coast to the Dampier Peninsula, across to Kununurra, Katherine and home. We expect to be away for all of June, July and August but home in plenty of time to prepare for the big wedding and some golf. Oh the joys of retirement! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again for your very genuine, informative and relevant videos (and your reference to us) and hope that we might meet up again on our travels one day. Kind Regards to you both, Noel and Marianne.

Hi Noel, sorry to hear about Marianne's fall, glad she has now recovered. We have been home for a month now catching up with family and friends, no big trips planned as yet. Thanks again for your kind comments on our channel and hopefully see you on the road sometime.
