Is this better than pan frying raw shrimp? My method is defrost the shrimp if frozen, then fry in butter and garlic for 2 - 3 minutes. I check the internal temperature with an instant read thermometer.

Let it cool down, strain it, store it, and re-use a few times. Then throw out in a sealed container.

Thanks for your video. I didn’t know you could cook shrimp from frozen. Here in Greece the packaging (translated), says pre-boiled/blanched, yet they look cooked, nicely shaped and pink. From fear of eating undercooked prawns, I’ve been cooking them for 2 mins in boiling water then putting them in an ice bath, and the texture is firm. Could this just be a language thing and the prawns are cooked?

@cleavercooking Ай бұрын
Frozen really only works if you're poaching or steaming. For dry-heat cooking methods like saute you'd want to defrost them. I would definitely follow the package directions. If you're not sure, continue cooking them.

Being a firefighter, I can't help myself, but since you are concerned with safety, it might be a good idea to turn the handle of your pan toward the counter or out of the way so no child comes by & knocks the hot oil onto you or themselves. What the heck! If you or if some other uncoordinated grown adult came by & wasn't paying attention, just be careful with hot oil.

This can be confusing because in a previous clip The instructor said that we should desist from activating the gluten by adding four tablespoons on vinegar to the cold water before introducing it to the flour/butter mixture whereas you are activating it. Which is correct 🤔 I'm confused!

Anytime you mix a dough, you're developing gluten. The idea is just to avoid mixing it to death.

I usually let my 5yr old granddaughter watch cooking videos with me and she LOVES it. It’s our thing together but it was a mistake to let her watch this one. We had to stop. Not sure why you need to use the foul language. Who ever heard of R rated cooks shows?
