He reminds me of that bodybuilder Dave Draper, one of Arnold's idols.

When you play basketball from a young age and spend thousands of hours on the black top, in pickup game after pickup game, the color of someone's skin doesn't matter, the only thing that does, is if they got game. Basketball shields you from the rest of this fucked up world. That is what I always loved about it. It's funny how it works, we are all equal until you step on that court, then we will see if you can play. It's a great game, the best.

His way of thinking is so rare. Especially in the NBA. $ left to finish college, practicing more than anyone, doing work himself, family, team player, tough as hell, doesn't see color, etc.. he's a man's man. So much confidence. He was a perfect person to lead a team, a team he stayed with.. to me, loyalty is huge. Make ur team better. Don't leflop to a different 'superteam'

Back before baseball knew it could monetize the derby for millions ( might not even been recorded) and players worked offseason jobs to make ends meet. Luzinski made 2.4 mill in 15 years, 2.1 in last 3 seasons and runs a bbq stand at Phillies games. Bob Costas with real hair ! Like spotting a Yeti.

Towards the end of the video there is a section that starts off with Ralph Branca in a TV show standing in front of a poster-sized photo of Bobby Thompson. Branca is singing a song about "Because of you...," but soon there is piano music to a different song that starts playing underneath the narration(Starts at about 53.05. Does anyone know the name of that tune?

Many put down the 70's in regard to the NBA. It was such a different time, everything was more laid back and fun. The league had issues during that time, including a bad drug problem. Playoff games were on tape delay - including the championship outside of DC and Seattle. Still, most of the players had passion and cared, today, the league is a joke.

This true Champion 🏆 Detroit pistons back to back 89&90 second team did after Lakers 87&88 long time I'm student the game basketball 🏀 play in high-school basketball 🏀 late 80s I'm oreganly Seattle Supersonic fan but I like defensive team like The Detroit pistons back to back Champion 🏆
@maxcarey64149 күн бұрын
Thanks for commenting! We feel this team doesn't get its due nationally. We feel they were playing the game as it was during this era. Watch some of the Celtics-Lakers finals and they were just as physical as the Pistons. However, by the Pistons regin, the league was much more corporate. That's when the transition to today's game fully begun.

You can tell that while ted had tremendous respect for Tony , he rightly was probably a bit disappointed in him too , because he felt he should have hit more homers , and personally I wish he wouldn’t have let himself go physically the way he did because at one point he was a gold glover and bonafide base stealer
