I felt bad for the tributes. They won their games but would spend years and years living with the trauma. The death of the Morphling was an example, the others dying was probably the best feeling they had in a long time because their lives of trauma were over and can be at peace again. Peeta was a good person comforting her the way he did.

yea but if yall read the books she described it like, that she never had the same warm feeling for gale as she did for peeta. she’d explained in the books, especially in the ones where peeta was gone, that she’d felt something for him that never sparked in gale or otherwise, the two of them had completely different experiences. also, gale as kind of a bad person to katniss, i mean he had _years_ to confess but the moment someone else did he got jealousZ

After watching Songbirds and Snakes I feel like the scene with Snow and Lucy Gray at the end in the woods is like this scene in reverse if you think about it

“Im right here with you” I don't think we realize how rare that probably is for the people in these games. Like yeah I'm sure people have cared for each other but I doubt there's time to actually be with someone as they are dying just because of the fact you still have to take into account that any chance of you being off guard can get you killed so it means so much more to people that when they are dying they have the comfort of being with someone helping them be less afraid and making sure they pass on as painless as possible

Peeta out here proving why genuine kindness and empathy are attractive traits and it fully makes me believe that this is when Katniss switched from just loving Peeta to being in love with Peeta

God, I forgot how wonderful and powerful the opening scenes with the Seam, Katniss, the woods and Gale are. I love the two of them together. Peeta ended up being the better fit for her, but I can't deny her chemistry with Gale is something else, and there's a deep understanding the two have at this point where they share a lot without having to explain themselves to each other. I like that Catching Fire gave them a bit of a chance to explore the "best friends falling in love" story that they were initially heading for (maybe) but after the Games, yeah, it just wasn't meant to be.

1:38 Katniss was too good a hunter to have allowed her prey to be downwind of her. I hate this scene in the movie. Also, you don't go running through the wood with a nocked bow like that while "hunting". LOL That's a great way to shoot your foot. How do I know? I've hunted before and I am a longbow archer (and recurve). I don't bow hunt though. I lack the arm strength to take down an animal cleanly and humanely. I also think that of all the movies, this one was the best. It was the most believable to me, that this kind of thing could really happen, etc. Oh, and the scene where she dry fires her bow with a rock...yeah, the rock would've not gone straight. It would've hit the bow then gone off on a tangent. Nice effort, though. :D

It took me a few watches, but something finally hit me about Seneca as a character. He genuinely believes in what he says here. He's not being a propaganda piece, he genuinely just doesn't see anything wrong with what he does. Like everyone else in the capital, he was raised with that being the norm and having his every want and need met while watching the games. He's great at what he does. Damn great. Like a coen brother. But he doesn't fully comprehend the extent of what the games are. The political aspect of it all. Snow looks at katniss as a threat while Seneca sees her as a damn good story for the games. Seneca wasn't around before the war so can't comprehend what snow was trying to warn him about. It's kinda sad. Grow up in a society doing everything right by it and just to be killed for one slip up. Seneca was playing artist while everyone else was playoff empire. And that's not even addressing the suffering he helped be apart of, but I think the movie does a good job of telling that as it is
