My favorite ski area. Love the narrow trails, slow lifts and uncrowded slopes. Don't ever change a thing!

Although a snowboarder I enjoy watching you skiers tear it up and enjoy the hard turns as well! Jay with good snow is the best... Dad just needed to find his own turns. At 52 myself that is my perspective but hasn't always been. It's great to see family shredding together!!!

Which glades did you enjoy skiing the most? Some of those look pretty tight, which makes me a little uncomfortable if there are not less dense trees to the right or left: the best kinds of glades for me are the ones that have varying tree density so I can feel like there is a bail out if things get hairy. Hells woods had lots of room, though. Canyon Land looked like almost the perfect tree density (still kinda tight, though it opens up nicely towards the end). The last one also looked super fun as you were able to get a little more speed.

Hit bonaventure glade, showoff glade, north glade, bushwhacker, hells woods, canyon land, and maybe Timbuktu if you want some more open glades. Would stay away from kitz woods, Everglade, vertigo, deliverance, staircase

Those unmarked woods off Sterling is called Green Acres (lower). Spruceline (under lift) is upper green acres. When they put in Sensation they split those glades

Your dad is badass at 60 with skills!! I’m hoping to do similar! I’m 52 and my boys are 9 and 11. They’ve got me in the lower glades a lot and we were recently at Jay. Kids aren’t ready yet for the steeps you ski and I need to hone my skills for the steeper glades! Curious what skis you recommend for tight trees? Thanks!

Yea he holds his own for sure lol. That's awesome. I'm sure they'll be there in no time. I would say atomic bent chetlers, Blizzard rustlers, Jskis escalators, Nordica unleashed are good ones to have a look at. Anything that's got a shorter turning radius and some rocker for deeper days is best.

My girlfriend and my 12yo son went for our first time the beginning of February. We live in ne Ohio so this winter was non existent for us. We loved Jay. It was my girlfriend’s first year skiing and she held her own well on blue groomers surprisingly. My son and I are intermediate. He is getting to the point where he wants to do ungroomed runs and some trees. I struggle bad in moguls and trees. I have enforcer 88 and just ordered some 2024 rustler 9’s. Hopefully these skis help with maneuverability. I’m thinking it’s time for a lesson to get over my hump. Anyways, great video and it makes me wish our season wasn’t over here. We also went to keystone Colorado and did three days. Thank god for those two trips.

INSANE SPEED MAN!!! I just spent the last two days at Jay, my first visit. What was so surprising to us was how skiied out almost every glade was despite the recent 34” dump! We hit every advanced glade except for vertigo, staircase, and everglade, but the only glades with small, untouched pow stashes were lower Timbuktu (slightly out of bounds), and lower North glade. Everything else was either ice, rocks, or both! I understand the base I’m the trees was pretty hard pack due to lack of snow and freezing rain, but is it normal for Jay to be this skiied out only a few days after a major storm? Maybe the presidents day crowds? It seemed to be just as icy and skiied out for you the day before us (Monday?) you visited.

Nice this was a great weekend to be there outside of some crowds. You generally see that on the steeper areas in the trees if you're a day or two late with the new snow. Especially since the snow was softer and can get pushed around. Week days usually have the best conditions given less traffic.

Drew! This is Casey - I made it home ok. Lost phone on last run yesterday during descent thru the glades off of ridgeview while dropping into the toll road. I waded thru waist deep pow for an hour trying to find it, even got ski patrol involved. No luck. But get this - some how some way someone found it, my gf called it this morning! So in the end there was some luck! I'll be back next weekend to pick it up. I cant believe it. Looks like this week will get rain so hopefully not too much gets destroyed. Talk to you soon. This is my only way I know to hit you up since I dont have ur # memorized. Also - sweet vid, as always!!! ENJOY VAIL BEAVER AND BRECK!!!!!

It’s still easy to get lost in the woods even when you know you’re in the resort. Sucks getting to a long flat spot especially on a snowboard and is scary when there’s no other tracks around and snow is deep. Glad you got out!
