Worst pass? Mbundini was the most unfulfilling pass for sure. A lot of hard work and no special rewarding views (unlike Fangs or Madonna).

So cool to see Jonathan's pics on FB and then see you here on YT. Love how Jonathan talks about Khulus which was a concept conceived between a friend and I while falling asleep in Roland's Cave...

Awesome video. I take Creatine as a supplement. It's great for strength, stamina, and recovery. One teaspoon a day. Good luck with the hike. We are with you in spirit. Whenever you upload a new video, it takes preference over anything else.

Best thing ever. Woolworths has them in what looks like a yoghurt container, absolutely perfect. It doesn't get squashed or anything and it's delicious. Plus you can reseal it so I ate half on Christmas n half the next day. I'll def be hiking with that again.

@AfricanHiker17 күн бұрын
Grow up quick, the views are worth it 👌🏾 I wasn't scared when we lost the trail, I was just tired of looking for the trail in the dark, it was futile. What did scare me was the talk abt being attacked in the middle of the night 🫣

How experienced does one have to be to this , 5 peaks in one day?
@AfricanHikerАй бұрын
The hike without tagging the peaks is moderate, the peaks make it more challenging, but it is easy enough as the peaks aren't much of a detour. You do have to have some experience hiking in the Drakensberg, all the peaks are above 3000m and performance can be affected negatively coz of the altitude. Another thing is that you will need to know how to navigate, there are no trails, no markers, nothing. Complete wilderness 💚
@AfricanHikerАй бұрын
I did this hike with mountain club South Africa (mcsa), the leaders are very experienced n they tend to offer unique hikes. I would suggest you also do this typa stuff with a club or highly experienced group.

Loved watching this and reliving our experience on this hike! We had the most amazing weather as well, not to hot not to cold. Although day 3 is the longest, day 2 seemed the worst with labyrinth hill knocking some (due to being able to see camp but then realising you had another hill to climb to get there! Also the shale doing downhill was torture!). Do agree with you on day 4 and the "false" peaks. I think for us day 3 was the best. Being away from technology was so good to, being forced to just focus on your surroundings and enjoy each others company over being stuck on phones or tablets. What an amazing hike, would love to do this again sometime!
@AfricanHikerАй бұрын
Day 3 was also my favourite, and I agree on how much better it is to be disconnected and just enjoy the moment. Glad you enjoyed the video, happy hiking 😊

Thank you 😊 you are going to love the hike. I think I did mention in the video that it is a flexible trail, it doesn't have a fixed starting point nor a fixed number of days (or maybe I said it in the video abt the huts 🤷🏾♀️) anyway regardless of where you start it's a fun trail and there are also optional side trails at each hut.
