I think this dance is too hip hop and modern for the traditional category. There was a rule that if any teams has a hip hop or modern dance, then for them to be in the talent competition.

Considering you’re from IADT and did read the rules, you should know this is not the traditional round. On the other hand, our southeastern Asian dances in the U.S. have evolved and include incorporation of several different styles such as modern, ballroom, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, pop, and so forth. So no, it is not entirely hip hop or modern. Next time, bring your concerns to the coordinators and provide them a detail feedback for future events. Expressing on this platform does no one any good. Anyways, congratulations to MNSS on the win.

@@lovechi3553 me too I want to see other dances too but Hmong people are strict this year they don’t want people doing other cultural dance cause it’s cultural appropriation but Chinese dance is okay? But there was an incident where Cambodian saw Hmong people doing their dance and the dancers clothes were not appropriate that the Cambodian were not happy that the dancers were cultural appropriating and they were faced with backlash from the Cambodian community. After that the dance group had to make a public statement on their Facebook page to apologize.
