@flavortownoutcast1719Ай бұрын
@@pichubutagain it’s just the case when you have a character that was designed as trickster character and then give them actual good tekken tools. Finally. A video that agrees with me. I started play Tekken at the end of 7, and loved watching good Jin. Now, its just "oh boy. ANOTHER JIN". The character is practically brain dead in terms of execution and playing against him is just so boring. Granted, i understand the matchups and don't really have issue playing against the guy. But its still annoying AF dude. Because i feel like I'm working too hard for a win that i shouldn't have to work hard for. I can usually tell within the first five seconds if this is a "i saw Tekken on the shelf today at my game store and thought it was cool so now I'm playing it" type player. AND ITS STILL DIFFICULT TO PLAY AGAINST THOSE PEOPLE BECAUSE OF HOW BUSTED THIS JOKE OF A CHARACTER IS!!!

@adonutplaysgamesАй бұрын
Points noted from video: - T8 Jin still has a launching hs from Omen stance (and, for some reason, a lot of people seem to forget about his Omen stance). - RA/RD comments irrelevant imo. Sure, nice T7 only options but the standardisation of Rage and the addition of Heat in T8 are far better options. Bit of a cynical video. Reminds me of how Perfect God Fist used to feel about Kazuya before he started adapting to T8's new systems and styles. For me, there's enough of old Jin in new Jin to still feel a connection from past games. Is he easier? Hell yes, he is. But that was the goal of T8 - to simplify the game, thus increasing player count by bringing on and retaining new players. This is absolutely essential to the survival of the series, as new players are the lifeblood of any video game and retaining them is great for future sales via word of mouth, reviews etc.
@flavortownoutcast1719Ай бұрын
@@adonutplaysgames the reason there is a “cynical” take on the video is because jin is practically a perfect character who can do everything. Keepout, damage, counter hits, pokes, approach, whiff punishment, 50/50s, oki, and the list goes on. Before you could play around his weaknesses and now the counter play is effective just be better than the Jin player which isn’t a fun experience
@justaway6901Ай бұрын
From a marketing perspective, it just made sense. They know a lot of people are going to play him, especially newcomers. His poster boy level in T8 is ramped up to 11 after all. They needed to make him easy and newbie friendly.

This video is terrible simply because you are too used to Season 3-4 Jin. The only thing you actually have an argument on is Jin’s poke range and the zen cancel stuff. Other than that, he always had crazy tools. You weren’t there to experience Season 1-2 Jin or even Tekken Fated Retribution Jin at all. 90% of his move set was basically like Tekken 8 Jin except T8 Jin has D2 and no zen cancel. This character always could do everything and his parry was way more braindead in Tekken 7 as you couldn’t punish it at all. They only took some sauce away from this character.

@onelefthanded6928Ай бұрын
I love his Tekken 8 story mode moveset rather than his mixed devil moveset 1.Df2 still like his T7 instead of devil claw into breaking step. 2.Jin's hellsweep launches into bound really good for fundamental plays instead of knock down for a follow up 3.Zen 1+2 in tekken 7 still exists in Tekken 8 storymode which been changed into Zen U+1+2 4. I didn't test his Zen cancel yet but without the breaking step I think it's easy to cancel 5. His storymode heat smash is just his 2nd heat smash in the game, so you have to be cautious when activate. And when close to the wall for that plus frame. In sense Bamco really capture T7 Jin playstyle with some minor adjustments to his T8 counterpart You should make a video of his story mode moveset and comparing the difference of playstyle if that was Jin official movelist, just a suggestion for a video😅

Can you make a detailed video on how to ensure your opponent isn’t off axis during combos? It’s the reason Keisuke dropped that combo against Atif. I just wanna know, as a Kazuya main, when to Uraken, when to 314, whether or not this move will change their position while airborne, if this move, done in this specific way, makes your opponent lie FUFT, FDFT, etc.
@flavortownoutcast1719Ай бұрын

Combo awareness being directly proportional to amount of time spent is so true! When I get a bound with Jin that’s not EWHF (like CHd2), I don’t do my usual staple (EWHF again > b+3f+1 > b+3f+12). It takes time to get used to.
@ParanoiaKeepsMeWakeАй бұрын
I've been playing Jin since Tekken 4 (really 3) and i can say that his changes aren't necessarily a bad thing. You typically want your resident main character shoto (Ryu, Sol Badguy, Mario in SSB) to be pretty accessible and Jin's gameplan in all previous Tekkens barred him from new players. I think this is ultimately good for the character, but he's a little *too* strong now and a little *too* simple. Returning some of his complexity while making some of his tools slightly less good (no combo off WHF when you have access to one button electrics or more minus frames on a blocked D2) would be good tweaks to start with. He's not a bad character now, just slightly too strong.
@muckdriverАй бұрын
"The more you use your character the more your combo awareness will improve" the most important reminder for anyone learning. I'm dog water in some games cause I don't do real matches enough but this skyrockets match quality for myself when I do. I get far more consistent oki, damage, resource management, etc. Being able to autopilot frees up the mind to go "hmm they got 60% HP, i got 0.25 meter. I probably want build more meter to keep the lead and have better Round 2 start, rather than squeeze 5% of damage" then adjust on the fly for said moments. Don't just lab. Unless the lab is the fun part.
