Thank you so much for the excerpts showing the artistry of Alexandra Iosifidi. More recordings will be very appreciated by all true ballet lovers. Was that filmed on 23 February 2010 (when Anastasia Matvienko danced the Aurora part) or on 27 May 2010 (when Somova did the Aurora part)?

far too slow tempo (more than 1 minute longer than any other rendition), boring and without any dramatic or scenical idea. What is the Persian dancer? a special guest invited to dance at Khovantsky's in a special ocasion or a slave summon to dance and probably raped afterwards by the boyar??? Give us back Ermler or Melik-Pashaev versions...

THESE COMMENTS are ludacrous. Iosifidi danced without the slinky constant reminders that she is there to kill him, its in the tile! I love that smikled it made her seem almost like a mother and THAT is dark, Love irt.

Just mesmerizing. Alexandra Iosifidi is superb in everything she does and deserve being a Mariinsky prima-ballerina, in my view.

+Илья Кузнецов l visited vaganova accademy in 1979 when still led by madame dudynskaya and mr sergeyev and also was introduced to them was a great time and a great honour so really l can't see somebody not from vag acc and kirov ballet leading the great vaganova accademy imo people like you should led it .enrico italy

Right, she shouldn't smile openly, although a slight evil smirk would be fine. She is a beautiful girl, though, and with great legs!

dances it too much not enough passion, she is supposed to be cruel, not light an soft like and playful, looks too choreographed not like she is actually beating him up and throwing him around, which is rare for me to complain about a russian dancer, they seem to be the only ones that dance the old way with emotion not just like modern dance machines that most of ballet has became today.

Very nice. You are a fine dancer and very beautiful. I enjoy watching all of your performances, especially when you are interpreting regal characters. Thank you for posting so many of them.
