The FICO score system is the dumbest system I have ever seen whoever invented it the way it is must be a 4 year old. If you pay off your mortgage or loan they actually penalize you and your score gets lowered, But if you have 9 loans out there and live paycheck to paycheck to pay them off your score goes up. This is how stupid the system is. So they pretty much penalize you for paying off your bills and lower score when it should be the opposite, Your score should go up if you pay off a bill, So the person or company who came up with this system must be an idiot.

Reasons deferring taxes can work: 1) save at marginal rate vs pay at average rate 2) state taxes, which you can move away from 3) charitable giving. QCD doesn't require itemizing.

How do business owners have more control when something like covid happens? 99% of businesses fail. Dollar cost averaging has never failed anyone in a tax deferred retirement account. This is terrible advice.

It is actually about 45% fail in the first 5 years. And at 15 years you are at 80%. Dollar cost averaging fails when you failed to invest enough. Or when like many Americans they pull that money out of the retirement account. If people invest 15-20% in low cost index funds and don’t pull it out then yes it is 100% win and they can become millionaires.

@@Dc343jfu4yes I could as the average pension is $500 a month. But I won’t have to as I am not doing what the average American does and that is pull money out of their retirement accounts. I think it should also be mentioned that the majority of business owners do not succeed. I can understand that if you are a successful business owner you most likely can outpace the 10% returns from a tax deferred 401k. But I generally think this is not good advice for the average person. The average person is not going to be able to succeed in business. They need to put their money away for the long-term and having it automatically taken out of the paycheck is also good for the average person that doesn't have the discipline to save. The majority of people calling in to Dave Ramsey that are in financial trouble are business owners. I don't think this is good advice for the average person.

Would you recommend roth 401ks and Roth iras? Both of my employers offer Roth 401k so my money can grow tax deferred. I also have an HSA investment that cannot be taxed. Would you not recommend these?
@VIPFinancialEd
@VIPFinancialEd 19 күн бұрын
Yes, I'd recommend those for sure - Roths are solid and so are 401k's - this video was just one perspective - obviously most people will be best suited to run with whatever plan their job offers and supplement beyond that. That said, there are ways to generate more wealth for retirement like the ones talked about in this video. The added potential does come with added effort and may come with added risk as well (starting a business for example). These won't be good for everyone as consistency is the most meaningful aspect in building a nest egg for retirement. The best and most basic advice is this: find something you can be consistent with and stick with that.

Exactly why i enjoy my day to day market decisions being guided by a portfolio-advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short term at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not outperform. I've been using an advisor for over 4 years since the pandemic, and I've netted approx. $1.3m after 100s of thousands invested so far.

Our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. My initial investment was $50,000 which gave me 50% ownership of the business. Not a royalty setup - I work with my partner (the other 50% owner) to determine where the profits are allocated. At the moment we are choosing to reinvest the profits back into the company. Long term play is building this to multiple locations and selling the business down the line. I talk more in depth about this in another video, which I'll link below
