Nowadays I have a pretty nice home studio. The thing is I started recording with an MP3 player that had AUX in and editing in Audacity on a hand me down netbook. Never let anyone tell you that you can't make music without gear. Create music, no matter what your means. If all you have is a cellphone do it on that. If all you have is an old mixer and a turntable interface do it on that. My point is get off your ass and start creating. The gear will come and go but the time you waste is never coming back.

Living in Venezuela in an incredibly punishing economic situation countrywide, in 2019, I was able to find a used M-Audio Fast Track for around $20 (USB, 1 line input, 1 XLR input, 3.5 mm monitor out,); I bought a Chinese copy of a Shure mic for about $20, it was surprisingly decent to my ears. Then I must have spent around $40 on a mic stand, pop filter, cables. I already had a guitar and bass at home, as well as a few pedals and all the necessary tools to play, and after a lot of youtube tutorials and practice, I knew how to create EZDrummer midi drums and do rough mixes on Reaper (the free version). All in all, with less than $100, I was able to record good-sounding demos, not the "best", not "professional", just good enough for me and definitely better than recording with a phone.

I always liked Peavy amplifiers. If EVH used a Peavy it's good enough for me. Nice amp.

Ive gotten a few of these goodwill guitars. Some cleanup is to be expected, but at that price, you can't go wrong. Even if it isn't good for anything else but hanging on the wall

I put together a couple of parts-caster P-bass instruments and what I found to be helpful was to just use the EMG solderless passive and active pickup P-Bass sets that really made it all very easy

Hey Snug, Thanks for this review! I had a guitar body with a gash in it almost like this one... I was able to fix it up and do something unique with it. I added a racing stripe over the spot after filling the area. I had hoped to smooth is over, but I just couldn't get the mark to disappear. You can see what I did here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ_WeX6kebJ0fJo ...Stay with the videos, and have fun with them. I can tell you like doing them... be blessed!

Make a part two video with you playing it going through all 5 pickup positions both on clean and distortion/gain so you can hear how it really sounds.

I saw one of your other videos and saw that you needed an amp. The Rockville 20G is a great option with easy overdrive capabilities. I have been using it for about a year now and it works great for high volumes.

i am currently making short scale mini guitar just because i want to test my skills again, but i was able to fit full set of 3 pickups 2 knobs and a switch and designed it with 10mm radius roundening on the corners all around tele body with strat picguard and single rod trus rod, but this is pretty basic or even sad i feel kids instruments are hit and miss and i really wish we get better options in afordable price range, because if you don't enjoy playing it the kid probably won't either it should be fun little thing doughter or son can't take away from the parent because the parent keep sneeking up to play it :P

@@kokodin5895 that sounds like a really awesome project! I admit I probably don’t know enough to tell if this is good or bad. I need to really spend some time with it myself and see if it has potential for a beginner, or just try and make sue with a full size
