@@ImportantlyNothing thank you for the update! I know things have changed, but you still generally will not be allowed to attend college until you have completed your CDCs, which you won't do until after clinical and taking your MLT. Hope this helps!

If you commsion as a lab officer, there's an 8 year service commitment. Research the "FY25 Biomedical Sciences Corp accesions" that should get you in contact with the right person. Also talk to a recruiter

Hi I have a question! So I have a biology degree and I’m thinking about going in as a lab officer, on the website it says you have to have a ASCP certification. But I know you can be fully certified in all section of the ASCP or just specific sections like chemistry or blood banking. To go in as an officer, can you go in only certified in one section? So bachelors in biology and a ASCP certification in ONLY hematology or do you gotta be full blown ASCP certified in all sections?

As long as you have your MLS certification from ASCP and a bachelors you can get in. Any specific section like blood banking or microbiology is just extra. You will be competing with ME if you plan on putting in for it this year

@@FragranceProphet I’m not MLS certified yet. So hopefully you’re able to get in. I’d love to see a vid of your process! There’s a MLS program where I live but it’s a one year program. Since the MLS certification consists of like 6 different sections that include blood banking, hematology, etc. I wasn’t sure if I could go officer only certified in one or two of the sections, not the full MLS. Could you explain the route you took?

Then I transferred to University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for my bachelors program, graduated, and took the Test for MLS, and passed. I have no special certification in any section. Hey bro, my wife ships off in a few months to the Air Force for medical laboratory tech. She already has her bachelors in pre-med. she’s going in as enlisted but wants to go to officer as soon as possible. How long does she have to wait to be eligible for officer training school or whatever?

@@jovonteirvin6681 this depends on how she wants to commision. To commision as a Lab officer, she will need to take her MLS test through ASCP and pass. There is also HPSP , which allows her to attend medical school if she is accepted by a school, and get her MD TUITION FREE. I will be making a video about this soon

@@malejaargo this depends on your BA major. If you are asking what brach to join, go air force. No other branch will give you the opportunity to utilize TA. And I have never heard of an ENLISTED getting their student loans paid off by joining. Ask, and if they can put it in your contract, I say go for it.

For what I spoke with a Navy recruiter: 65k to repay student loans if 50 or higher on the Armed Forces Qualification Test, and joining without bachelor’s. He wasn’t into MLT programs, but offered me corpsman. So I’m taking my time to take the wisest decision. I appreciate your help!

@@expendable9479 we are trained to do everything in the lab and draw blood. And yes, it absolutely can lead to a cls job. I just got my bachelors in MLS from the UAMS college of health professionals, which is only offered to military

Hello sir, I'd like to give you a little background about myself and get your thoughts. I'm a 38 year old male and I've been putting a tremendous amount of thought of joining the AF and making lab tech my #1 choice for my job. I want to join as enlisted FT, not reservist. I have a BS degree in microbiology; I originally went to college for a double major in medical technologist and microbiology, but I dropped the medical technologist due to the required 1 year unpaid internship. My civilian job is in a analytical Chem lab; perhaps you heard the joke analytical Chem is anal Chem because of how detail oriented it is. Why do I want to join the AF? FYI, I won't be able to join for several months due to 1, I am very overweight and out of shape, so I need to get myself in the gym, and 2, I am currently in braces, so I can't go to BMT until I get them off, and I'll be 39 when I get them off; but why do I want to join... My job is very unfulfilling. I am very unappreciated for what I bring to the table for my job. Your thoughts please.

Stop what your doing, stop talking to an enlisted recruiter. Join the officer corps. Lose the weight, make triple the money and you can still be a technologist and serve your country. Do not go enlisted if you have a bachelors degree

@FragranceProphet literally right after you responded to me earlier today with your first comment an enlistment recruiter called me. He said to me because I have the bs degree I should try directly for OCS, and reach for my highest potential, and then come down if denied. He asked me what my GPA was and I told him and he said officer recruiters are going to want someone with a higher GPA. Me and him are supposed to speak on Wednesday at his office. He's going to give me the contact info for the state officer recruiter and answer any questions I have, but he doesn't want me to sell myself short; let the officer recruiter turn me away before going straight to enlistment. Ty for responding to me today; you've been a great help and I found this video to be very informative.

Oud PASHMINA is a very complimented scent for me....𝐘𝐄𝐀, even on men🙂 I wore it out casually and didn't think that anyone would like it (3 sprays) ...but I went to CVS drug store and two women waiting in the pharmacy line said 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅! They both were curious and wanted to know what frag I was wearing. When I told them Oud Pashmina....one of the ladies said 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂? I laughed my ass off because I also had no clue what Pashmina was They both got on their phones and looked it up. I have about 125 frags so oud Pashmina is in my rotation for date nights and nights out only....because I think it goes better when I'm dressed up a bit. Anyway that goes to show you that 𝑨𝑳𝑳 𝑺𝑪𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑺 are subjective. I have frags that are CLOYING and too sweet for some of my friends and the perfect sweetness for some of my other friends. However I do have a frag from MANCERA that I blind bought that I 𝐀𝐁𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐓𝐄... and that is Kumcat Wood..... You might like it as I'm sure 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 out there does. But it smells just like the LUMBER AISLE at Home Depot🙂 Anyways, its always good to hear another person's opinion on a frag👍

Your training. everyone starts at 1, you get to 3 after you graduate techschool. 5 is awarded after you complete cdcs. 7 is for NCOs, 9 is for Big wigs like cheifs.

Started a college degree in Bioengineering but never finished. you NEED college credit in Bio and Chem. I had AP Bio =logy and General Chem as well as calculus 3

This one has been one of my favorites since like 2010 or so, I know how cheap it is now, but I remember I was so impressed at Macy's I was so impressed I payed full retail the first time. For $30 a bottle now, it's a killer deal, and like you said, just keep reapplying it, fill up a travel sprayer. I love how this stuff smells and I have over 100 bottles, some costing me way too much.

Lol, yes but only if you complete TCCC training I dont wear one. Havent done the training and even if i did, its optional anyways so i wouldnt wear it. Dont want to be singled out as a medic if im not a real medic

Hey! I just got this job, and I’ll be leaving for my basic training soon. I have a son of 6 mo and I do wonder what the work hours and days look like in this career? Do you get holidays, weekends of what are the hours like. I was a Nurse Tech at hospital and my experience was very hectic and I could never get weekends or any holidays off.

That will depend entirely on your Base. Study hard in tech school, and try to get a smaller Base as your first base. Good rule of thumb is, if its a phase 2 site (AETC base) or a base youve heard of before, DONT PUT IT ON YOUR DREAM SHEET! Larger bases make you pull nights and 12s, smaller bases are usually 7-4pm or 9-5

Jolidays are usually guaranteed but with recent command switch to DHA, you will never get a 4 day weekend unless you take leave. 3 days max
