Thank you….i learned a form of this method by MelyD years ago and just expanded my use and “perfected” it for myself…I think the black paint sinks as it’s denser and that allows the color to come through. The colander allows more air bubbles to get in the mix so when they rise to the surface and pop the color comes through. And I’m sure there is a lot of chemistry I am unaware of lol

I use right out of the bottle….when you varnish it doesn’t seem to be a problem if the pigments are slightly off…I used to never touch them, then just started to practice and seems to work well!

@@dwightpours1261 I’ve watched so many of your videos trying to figure out if there’s a secret ingredient in your white paint that I’m missing because I’ve never seen anyone create the amazing cells that you achieve but I suppose it’s a “practice makes perfect” thing. I’m not sure what you’re asking.

All of my paints are typically mixed the same. Most likely in this video it was floetrol and a little liquitex pouring medium and water. I am unsure of the purpose of gac at this point but previously we thought it was helpful in these pours. It might help keep the paints from cracking when drying. I don’t use it anymore. To do these pearl pours you do not need satin enamels but artist loft soft body white works great on its own

I used to be afraid of touching up for fear of ruining the painting, it I just dove in and did what I can do…need to match the colors and realize when you varnish some of the blemishes will disappear and blend in

It depends…the more neutral seems to be more desirable for interior design…color is fine but something more monochromatic than bright is more appealing

Paints all have to be thinned, all the paints are the same consistency. If too thick nothing will happen except a few specks…it’s a process to make sure that you don’t use too much water as well
