That definitely seems to be a tough one to get. I've heard from a few other collectors that they are looking for him. There is a facebook group called "Frankford Candy Medallion Collectors" that you can join and inquire about the Simba coin. There are quite a few other collectors there with duplicates looking to trade or sell. Good luck, and I hope you are able to track him down!

I think many of us agree with you on that one as well. The finished pressing always just looks better when you are able to use those older coins with the higher copper content. Machines that let you use your own coins are getting harder and harder to find!

I've always really enjoyed these smaller numbered sets. Tracking them down all over property can be a bit challenging, but also part of the fun!

Absolutely. Usually the easiest option is to connect with a designer who will help with you with the design (if needed) and they would also have an engraver they work with to create the die, and then can press your custom design on pretty much any type of coin. The type of currency and total number of coins to be pressed will change the overall cost. In most cases it would be around $200 to have a design created, die engraved and around 100 coins pressed. That's fantastic. I've watched quite a few of Chris' videos and he always seems like he has a lot fun at the parks. I agree that it has definitely changed the hobby and the interactiveness of the machines now that you can no longer use your own coins. I always enjoyed seeing the different foreign coins that collectors were able to press making an even more unique souvenir. That's for reaching and I'll definitely be checking out your video with Chris!

@@davidscointravels I actually ran into Chris three separate times while on that Disney trip. On the last night of the trip both of our families were eating at Tortilla Joes in Downtown Disney. He called me over and I got to meet his wife Amanda, his son Myles, and Cameraman Greg. When we initially met at Rancho Del Zocalo, I showed him the pennies I had pressed. Chris was super stoked because a lot of his subscribers were wanting a video about Disneyland’s pressed penny machines. As a little gift, I gave him a 1910 Wheat Penny pressed with an Adventureland Minnie Mouse design. The significance behind the year 1910 is Main Street, USA takes place in that time period. As for the design, Chris’ first Disney video talked about Adventureland. Definitely check it out 😁🙌

Same here! I honestly was pretty shocked that Disney even released a set of coins for the studios 35th anniversary, but it was a nice surprise.

There is a new Penguin coaster opening soon at Seaworld, and I'm curious if they will release another collectible coin for it. They make for a fun little collectible set. I almost wish they would release ones for their other older existing rides as well

Unfortunately the machine was pre-loaded so I couldn't use my own coin. It was filled with US Cents and I'm assuming they were newer zinc coins.

I agree. The 50th and 100th sets were nice, but with large sets like those it's nice to get back to a smaller dated set.

Yeah I did like that the 50th and 100th set, but for the 50th I only have 11 pressed pennies and for the 100th I only have 3 medallions. The reason I’m happy that the year pressed pennies are back is that I know what year I got my Disney World pressed pennies. If I didn’t have a year pressed penny, I will write on a little piece of paper when I got the pressed penny in my pressed penny book with my pressed penny.

That's always a pain. I've gone through that many times, going out of my way to get a specific machine and it was out of order. Hopefully you can get back there to finish pressing them for your collection!

It's quite the place. I don't usually fly any of the airlines that are now located in the new terminal, but MCO offers a shopping pass that allows you through TSA and into the terminal. Lots of shops and places to eat! There is a Disney store there as well but so far no coins available.
