Part 2 of this is one of the most cringy parts of a podcast I have ever watched - putting Joyce on the spot about this guy's group NOT being invited to a Gaither recording show. This guy has NO idea how Bill Gaither and his group programs these episodes. What I would have recommended is to have a private phone call many years ago if you had an issue with someone rather than air it to the world. Joyce did a very artful job of taking a cringy situation and try to provide some real education of the industry in a very artful, soft way.

I've always loved The Hemphills ! 💕 ✝️ 📖 🎶 I saw y'all in Knoxville Tennessee in the 80s 🤔. I also loved the Goodmans and the McKeithens. "Pity the Man" is one of my favorites, and I'm just now learning that you wrote it. 😊 You wrote so many great songs, Brother Hemphill, and I think your most beautiful one is "I Claim the Blood". ✝️ Thank you for sharing ! God bless you ! 🙏

I don’t know you Bobby, I wanted to watch an interview with Joyce Martin that you call a friend. Wow, I can’t believe you challenged her like that in public about a song they sang on a Gaither video. But let me pour you a tall glass of get over it and here’s a straw🥤so you can suck it up. I am sure she didn’t appreciate it. I am about half way through this video, but think I’ll stop watching now. I don’t enjoy that sort of thing.

You should listen to the rest. She sets him straight and he ends up asking for forgiveness. She was so gracious and kind.

I saw Restless Heart in Canada during that tour and , yes , you could tell they were working stuff out. It was still really well done, but it was obvious that that the person missing was casting a huge shadow. I didn't get up and walk out because , to me, it was still quality music. As a musician myself, I knew what it was like trying to compensate for a missing member
