Now in 2025, do you get any vibe that the homeowners sort of think the staircases belong to them exclusively and that the public should not use them?

Nothing is permanent. We always forget that. Places, buildings, people; it all disappears eventually. (I visited this chapel on June 16, 2019, as well as back in the early 1970s).

being born and raised in Los Angeles, I have encountered many different hidden stairscases like these in Lincoln Heights, Highland Park, Montecito Heights, El Sereno, City Terrace, Mt.Washington, Mt. Hermon, Eagle Rock, Glassell Park, Atwater Etc. There are so many of them in Los Angeles and L.A.County. My parent's house is near one of these old staircases. We use to have to climb up and down them to get to and from school.

Note the spelling difference between 'Britney' and 'Brittany'. They are not the same thing nor are they the same word. Americans - please learn to read, then learn how to pronounce. It's not difficult.

Love this! My mothers French Canadien family came from Brittany over 350 years ago. Even though they spoke French, they always claimed to be "Celtic", and different.

Brest was the only french speaking town in Brittany, the rest of Bretons spoke either Breton or Gallo until 1902 when France banned Breton and Gallo from being educated to children. So your ancestors probably spoke Breton or Gallo too !

These staircases are nice. When I lived in Echo Park, I used to go up the Clinton Street Stairway off Glendale Blvd, the Grafton/ Lucretia Stairs off Echo Park and Delta St, and Alvarado/Ewing Stairs off Lake Shore and Ewing St. Does anyone know those stairwells?

To let others know, sometime after this video was long since filmed, there had been a couple of changes made at Westwood Village. For instance, the simple memorial ground plague to Don Knotts had been replaced by a larger one elaborately engraved with several of the movie characters that Don had portrayed in his career. As for the crypt right next door to Marilyn Monroe...it is now occupied by Hugh Hefner according to his wishes.

Actually, it's not the only museum that allows you to ride in its cars. There's the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI that gives rides in their Model T's.

He's confused about Doggerland, the situation he's talking about was 18,000 years ago and it's absolutely not the reason for cultural closeness, Brittany was settled by Welsh and Cornish people about 1500 years ago.

God, I loved living in LA - for 30 years. I moved because so many of my closest friends either moved or died and my neighborhood was beginning to be a sad place for me, and plus traffic became unbearable, my neighborhood ion Hollywood got crazy crowded with giant new buildings and no space around them, and it just got so expensive. So, I bought a house in an adjacent state and pay less mortgage than I paid rent in my small Hollywood apartment. Speaking of Nobody' Walks in LA... a song sung by Dale Bozzio (Missing Persons)- She was standing in front of me in line to pay for groceries at "Rock N Roll Ralph's" at Sunset & Poinsettia Place (my street) in the late 80's or early 90's.
