I need help with splitting a Zoom audio file into multiple tracks i.e Mine and the guests because they needed to be treated differently. How do I do that? I can't seem to find a video explaining that.

This is a really good tutorial, but I think it would have been better geared as "Reaper Fundamentals". I didn't see anything in this that would be specific to podcasting. I'd definitely be interested in seeing more though!

hey buddy. It's a nice straightforward tutorial. but I'm confessing with one more thing so after clicking arm/disarm button theres option called left/right. so does this mean if a record in left the audio will played on the left channel only? i'm gonna record a song. help me out. love from bd❤

Yes thank you for creating this video on reaper. I presume reaper is just for audio recording? Is there a windows software package available for recording Podcast videos for youtube that works with reaper. I'm a newbee to creating podcasts and have no idea where to start. Any advice would be great. Thank you, Fiona
@ReaperforPodcasting7 ай бұрын
As far as I know, there is no direct way to record video in Reaper. If you're using a webcam, Windows comes with an app called Camera that can record video. You would then just import the video file in Reaper and edit there. I would suggest checking out @TheREAPERBlog. He has a doing video in Reaper.

Hi Daniel, what are the latest plugins you usually use? Your livestreams are 2yrs old and I am curious if you change, or add some plugins/fx you usually use for mixing. Or maybe if you have new workflow when editing podcast. Thank you

Can you tell me one thing? For podcast any luf s levels should we match or we directly export the audio and upload without any mastering?
@ReaperforPodcasting7 ай бұрын
Depends on the platform. KZbin likes -14LUFS. I think Spotify as well. Apple wants -16LUFS. I aim for -16 and let the other platforms deal with it as they will. But I would never put out an episode without some sort of mastering.

Hi, what is alternative for RX?
@ReaperforPodcasting7 ай бұрын
I don't know that there is a comprehensive alternative to RX. Are there modules in RX you're looking for specifically?
@SimplySars7 ай бұрын
@@ReaperforPodcasting hi Daniel, thanks for the reply. I am learning to be a podcast editor, I followed your script, advices and guide but it's hard for me to start if from the beginning, I have no chance to follow you along with your workflow stream. You use RX for mouth de-click, plosives, and you use also some paid plugins like rider, shnaps Omni, wml . Actually, I am looking for the prices of the FX you used inside the reaper ( Waves plugins are on sale ), but my question, can I be able to execute good editing without RX ? Most of the videos I saw are using RX :( . I am hoping you could share again a live workflow of your editing on reaper in live stream. The last stream workflow of you was 2yrs ago. Thank you in advance.
@ReaperforPodcasting7 ай бұрын
@@SimplySars You 100% can be a great editor without RX or any paid plugins. Most of the plugins you listed have a free alternative. This list is dated but it has my recs for paid and free plugins. reaperforpodcasting.com/plugins I would also suggest getting RX Elements when you're able. It goes on sale a lot. Right now it's 50% off. www.izotope.com/en/shop/rx-elements/ Sadly, I don't know of a good alternative for mouth de-click but most of the others you should be able to find.

I'm still looking for a way to trim silence on start and end only. It seems all these methods trim silence in the middle too... Audacity had the same issue so I switched to Reaper just for that. Maybe I'll have more luck with Dynamic Split, if I manage to set a good threshold (to make sure I don't delete too much of the track at the beginning).

This is cool! Wonder if there’s a way to use something like snapshots but with pre-programmed smooth/slow fader movements.

I'm not sure I follow. What do you mean by snapshots?
@aeiplanner6 ай бұрын
@@ReaperforPodcasting I'm referring to the SWS Snapshot extension. Gives you the ability to save snapshots of your mix. I would love to figure out if it would be possible to trigger the snapshots with smooth fader movements by pressing a button on my stream deck.

Collaborate how? As in both of you being able to work on the same project at different times? Or work on it at the same time similar to how Google Docs works? Or something else?

@@heathersailes4280 To work on it at the same time, you would need to be in the same room. Otherwise, you could keep your project files in Dropbox and work on them separately. You wouldn't be able to work at the same time but your changes would stay in sync.

Thanks for the great video and all the info. I've been using a bunch of different resources to try to speed up my workflow for my longform podcast and your videos are really helping. Question, how did you manage to shrink your mixer to the point where it allows much more of the track's area to be visible? On your videos, I like the ratio of Mixer size to Track size. When I try to scale down my mixer it hits a limit and will no longer shrink the height.

What you see in this video is a fresh install of Reaper. There might be something up with your install if you're not able to get it that small. I'd suggest posting a screenshot in the FB group and you can get ideas from the community.
