I made 24 rows before creating the armholes but u can do more rows (before armholes) if you want the cardigan to be longer. I hope this answers your question. I started with white so that u can see the stitches clearly at the beginning.

Hi, you use two yarn strands at the same time. It can be two balls of yarn being used at the same time. I hope this answers your question.

How did you figure out the placement of the stitch markers for the hood?

I explained it in the video, simply put the stitch markers apart leaving at least a 3 to 4 inch gap and follow the instructions.
